MY SUBMISSION FOR: Contest||Share with us how you celebrated the New Year 2021
My name is Adekunle Abiola @ayoyemi. I am a Nigerian, I am a Christian from the southwestern part of the country. I am grateful to God for sparing my life, my family and my loved ones.

The new year day was memorable and it is well celebrated. New year celebration here is a general celebration for Christians, Muslim and traditional worshipers. The celebration started from the last day of the previous year, I attended the new year Eve with my family and we came back home around 1.am of Jan 2021. We slept and wake up very early to plan for the that day, we had a lot of place to visit.
It has become a custom with my family to celebrate the new year with my in-laws, for they came down to our place for the Christmas celebration. That is how we have been doing it since we married.
The children together with my wife went ahead to my in-laws place which is 3km to my place. I couldn't go with them because I have many other places to visit. The first place I visited was the prayer mountain, there I spent 3 hours from 9 to 12 noon and I went back home to prepare for the next place.

The next place I visited was the birthday celebration of a father and mentor who was celebrating his 70th birthday, He is PA. Johnson Odebisi by name, he is a retired Road safety marshal and a devoted worshiper.
The birthday celebration started by 2.00 pm and ended by 4.00pm and I left the place after I had taken a soft drink around 4.20pm. I went straight from there to my in-laws place. Although the celebration there has almost ended, I still met them celebrating. I was served pounded yam called (Iyan) in my dialect, I ate and played with them till around 9.00pm and we came back home.
When we got home around 9.30 we could not eat anything again but go to bed and sleep. It is not more than this although I might have omitted some points...
