A short Awareness post For Bangladesh: Lockdown start from 5th April.
5th April2021
Hi Everyone hope all are fine and free from this deadly disease coronavirus. I think you all know about the lock down notice which will start from 5th April in Bangladesh.. So What Should we do during the lockdown?
And.............................
what should we do and what shouldn't?
There are several types of coronavirus. Some of these can be fatal. The new coronavirus that is currently spreading from China is such a virus. So far no vaccine has been discovered for the virus or Covid-19. There is no substitute for personal awareness to prevent infection with this virus.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it can take up to 14 days for symptoms to develop after a new coronavirus infection. The symptoms of Covid-19 are:
Fever with dry cough
Respiratory problems.
There may be pain in the muscles
In this case the infection starts with fever. This can be followed by a dry cough, which can lead to respiratory problems within a week.
People with any of the flu-related diseases, such as kidney, heart or liver failure, are already sick or have low immunity, have uncontrolled diabetes, and pregnant women are at higher risk. This also applies to new coronaviruses. In this case, the death rate of the elderly is higher. Children are also less at risk.
Ways to prevent infection
There is no substitute for personal awareness to prevent coronavirus infection:
■ Droplet infection is spread through sneezing and coughing. The best prevention in this case is not to come in contact with the infected, suspected infected person. To keep yourself safe, stay away from anyone with a cold or cough.
■ Special masks should be worn on the face of the affected person and the caregiver. Never sneeze or cough without covering your nose and mouth with tissue or with your elbow. Used tissues or handkerchiefs should be disposed of in appropriate places.
Wash hands frequently with soap-water or hand sanitizer. Objects that many people touch, such as stair railings, door knobs, water taps, computer mice or phones, car or rickshaw handles, etc. should be cleaned immediately.
■ Fish-meat should be boiled well.
Why Lockdown is important?
The first way to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection is to avoid human-to-human contact. But it is too late for us to decide. I have made more than one mistake in implementing the decision. Firstly, as a result of declaring a public holiday without stopping public transport, a large number of people have left Dhaka crammed into public transport. As a result, the opposite has happened to avoid contact. Then, after the garment factory workers were asked to return to work, a large number of people came in contact with each other. People were advised to stay at home, but in the beginning many did not follow it.
Finally, although it was too late, some new initiatives were taken. The shops have been instructed to close after the stipulated time. It has been instructed to offer prayers at home without gathering in the mosque. But even after that, there is still a lot of movement on the roads.
Meanwhile, experts say that we are facing the final stage of coronavirus infection. From the fact that the infection has been identified and the death toll is on the rise, it is clear that community transmission of coronavirus or local social infection has started in Bangladesh. If we still fail to ensure social distance, that is, human-to-human contact, the coronavirus epidemic could soon spread across the country.

Strict measures must be taken now to ensure that people stay at home to avoid that situation. We have no choice but to complete the lockdown. But the government is not using the term. General holiday announcements, avoidance of crowds or gatherings, advice to stay at home all these initiatives have a kind of laxity. Apparently, awareness of the dangers of coronavirus infection has not been sufficient among people at all levels of society. At first, the government was largely responsible for the negligence. Conflicting decisions have also confused a large number of people. But now we have no chance to play tricks; No more wrong decisions.
In the current situation, there is no alternative but complete lockdown. We have to find a way to make it work. First, there is the need to campaign extensively about the dangers of leaving home. It has to be done not only in the national media, but also at the community level. The grassroots of the local government need to be active now. On social media, some are advising curfews in places; This can also be considered if space and field needs.
However, in the case of the whole lockdown, the issue of livelihood of the poor people cannot be ignored in any way. At the same time, they need to determine how to get food and help. Suggestions have been made from various quarters to take initiative to deliver food from door to door and send money through mobile phones. Some such decisions have to be taken on an urgent basis.
