Christmas festival is an annual festival celebrated by all Christians in the world. This festival was set aside to be celebrated on the 25th of December. The purpose of this festival is to commemorate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
On this day, the Christians come together to church to celebrate this day by praising and celebrating the reasons for his birth.

The exact date of the birth of Jesus is yet to be known because it wasn't written in the Bible. Back then the month of December has two holiday for the romans which is the saturnalia, on this day they honor their god of agriculture and on December 25, they celebrate the Mithra the sun god.

When Christianity was spread across the Europe, the priest was unable to discover the day of the birth of Jesus and it was at this period they decided they decided to choose 25th December to celebrate Jesus birth.

The Christmas tree used today started from the Northern Europe and it is being used today by the Christians to decorate trees beautiful light with sweet melody

Santa Claus who was inspired by St. Nicholas, he came from a wealthy family, he is generous man. He was persecuted because of his faith. He saved three daughters to be sold to slavery and this made him famous, there was no dowry to make men marry them and that was why their father decided to give them out to slavery. So this generous man St.Nicholas threw a gold into their home to save the daughters but this gold landed in a sock by the fire.So this made children hang sock by the fire hoping to get a gift from St.Nicholas.

How I celebrate Christmas

Before this day, We do thorough cleaning in the house and also clearing of the environment, go to the market to get some ingredients to cook, buy some drinks to fill to fridge.

On the 25th we honor the day by going to church for service which is usually with 1 or 2hrs. We take pictures then go back home to prepare delicious meal which most time is alway fried rice with chicken and also Prepare swallow for the old men that came for visit

This day is alway filled with joy because i get to see some of my family members and have fun.

Conclusion

Interesting fact about Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus and this day symbolizes Love. This is the sweetest day in the month of December and also being the last month of the year. It's a memorable day for me
