Hello and greetings everyone, I hope you all are fine. Sorry for writing my diary so late. But I had to write it because Its my sister's dholki event today so That's the only reason of being late.

So today was the mehndi event of my sister in law. Our rasams are delicious. They are a part of our shared cultural heritage with India. A bride used to "sit mayoun" in the days (or weeks!) leading up to her wedding, which meant she didn't leave the house, left oil in her hair, wore very plain clothes, and didn't wear make up. This rasam of not wearing makeup on your mayoun/mehndi slash overall looking untidy in the days leading up to the wedding, as far as I understand it, is to make you look THAT MUCH MORE AMAZING as a bride. It's the essence of a "Before" and "After" makeover, in a way!

Not only is it hard to stay at home and not leave the house before your wedding, but who wants to do that?! I believe that the new school method to honour this custom (if you so desire) is to simply not wear any makeup to your mayoun function. That's exactly what I did with my mayoun. And that's my sister in law's did as well.

The function went pretty awesome. All our relatives came and gave prayers to my sister in law. I arranged all the flowers which u can see on the wall. Did alot of efforts to make everything looks good . The bride is adorned with flower jewellery as part of the mayoun/mehndi ceremonies. Close relatives and friends of the bride will take turns placing flower jewellery on her.

At a dholki event we ordered the barbecue items. Like kababs and street style food counters. And as you know winter is here so we ordered gajar ka halwa in sweet dish.

This is the karahi my MOTHER did it for my nand.
