Steemit Engagement Challenge Week # 3 || Defend The Statements || Be the Critical thinkers we want to see!

Hello greetings to all of you dear friends, trust you are all doing great and getting on with the challenges.

This post will be my participation in the steemit Pakistan contest where we are asked to defend three statements. I'm going to be defending the following three:

• Punishment never has a good effect.
• Money is more important than love.
• Votes are not guaranteed

Punishment never has a good effect

As we may know, punishment is defined as a kind of loss or pain that is inflicted on a wrongdoer for his misdeed.

Some punishments are inevitable such as the consequences tht result from wrongdoing, while other punishment are inflicted by someone to the wrongdoer. Punishment may not necessarily be by hitting someone, punishment can mean denying someone of what he loves doing or assigning him task that he may not naturally want to do.

There are many forms in which punishment can take and the aim is that it helps a wrongdoer to realize his mistakes and avoid that wrong path.

So, punishment never has a good effect?
False!
History has shown that most people that are punished for their crimes has come to realize their mistakes and changed their bad course.

Punishment helps to correct wrong behavior. If a child is punished, then he will know that what he has done is wrong and he will not do it again knowing that he will get punished for it. When a person is rightly disposed, he will understand that good punishment is for his own benefit and he will learn to correct his mistakes.

Though punishment is necessary at times, they should never be too harsh as the purpose of the punishment may get defeated.

Punishment when given in a loving way yields rich results

Money is more important than love?

As the saying goes, "Money makes the world turn around." Even without thinking about this statement, we know that there is some truth to it. Money is needed to buy clothing, shelter, food at home. Money plays an incredible role in our society.

Money is important! But is it more important than love in the family?
Money solves problems in the family but there are some families that cannot afford many material things but are still living together. Love has bound them together even with having little to eat.

A wise proverb says "Better is a dish of vegetable where there is love than a fattened bull where there is hatred".

If love exists in the family, everyone will live in peace and manage the little that they have. Happiness doesn't come from from many possessions but from being content with what we already have.

I oppose the motion that money is more important than love.
Money has its own limitations. It's true that with money we buy food, but we cannot buy appetite, money buys medicine but not health, money can buy soft beds for us but not sleep, money can buy fun, but not joy, it can buy acquaintances but not real friends.

On the other hand, love is patient and kind, it bears and endures all trials. Having money without love makes no sense but having love without many possessions, one can still be happy. So for all the above mentioned reasons, I draw the conclusion that love is more important than money...

Votes are not guaranteed

Yes, this statement is so true!
Upvote is the reward we gained from creating contents. It is true that everyone of us expects to be rewarded for the contents we create especially the ones we put in much effort to make. But hey as you are making that post, thousands of other steemians are also writing, every minute new posts are made and curators have to work hard to check many publications before they upvote.

The Curation work can be really stressful as there are many posts and so not many can be reached at the same time.
Everything is done gradually and it will surely reach everyone since I believe so much that the Curators are not biased and that they know the right thing to do.

We on our part need to make their work easier for them. To make the Curators work easier for them we need to follow the rules of content creation in steemit.
We need to avoid plagiarism, belong to a club, use good markdown style to make your post easier to read, use the right hashtag, post in the right community, and most importantly we need to be consistent, that way we will make it easier for the curators to notice us and easily give us vote.

Patience and consistency are the greatest virtues that will help us to succeed in Steemit since votes are not guaranteed

Yes, votes are not guaranteed and we cannot control how much our posts is voted, but we can increase our chances of getting upvote by always doing the right things.
