Before I start with the history and origin of the Carnival. I would like to continue with the country which this beautiful carnival.
Nigeria is a country in West Africa, it is the most populous country in the continent of Africa. It is widely known for the production of crude oil which the country generates it's revenue. Nigeria is also the most populated black country in the world. With 200 million people, it is a country that is made up of different ethnic groups and cultures and tradition, some well known festival includes corn festival, fish festival, new yam festival and Ekpo (masquerade).
The origination of the Calabar Carnival Festival can be traced back to 2004, when Donald Duke was the governor of Cross Rivers State. It is a new festival judging from the time it began.
The Calabar Carnival Festival is no doubt a good tourism attraction, this was the main reason why Governor Donald Duke brought this wonderful carnival to boost the state's internal economy.

This annual festival was designed to take place in December during Christmas. We can see the Governor's vision of making Calabar the 1 most attractive tourist center in Nigeria. During this period millions of people from Nigeria and Africa come to Calabar, even one month to this great carnival. They book hotels and some citizens outside the country return home to participate in the country's most prestigious carnival festival.

The Calabar Carnival Festival was meant to add to the State economy, it has so far generate more money to the state and Nigeria at large. When the time comes, money is invested into making the carnival outstanding. Of course, this is also a business. It makes more money than some industrial firms in just a month. For the taxi drivers in the state you can imagine how much they would make following the caliber of people coming to watch this this Carnival Festival in Nigeria. The whole state benefits from this festival, the restaurants, taxi drivers, journalist, broadcasting companies, petroleum companies, Marts, mall, supermarkets, boutiques, etc.

WHY IT'S MY FAVORITE

The colorful outing involved in this and the heritage of the Calabar Carnival Festival is one that no one can turn away from. It's attracts my sense of sight and spirit. It is in this Festival that you get to meet the most successful celebrities, actors and actresses in the country. This is what makes it my favorite Carnival Festival in the country.

This Carnival Festival will be hosted this year in the City of Calabar. It is going to be with wonderful as usual. Each year, thousands of people from around the world come to Nigeria to experience what makes this beautiful occasion so attractive, and they always conclude their experience with 'Awesome'.
