Asslam-o-Alikum!

Routine, busyness, and worries about life are invisible diseases that are licking people like termites. In the country of Pakistan, where political and economic stability is far from visible, the related situation is getting worse day by day. Tired of your routine life, if you find a place near your residential area where you can refresh yourself with entertainment, such places are no less than a blessing. I also count myself among the lucky Pakistanis who have a tourist/entertainment spot near their residential area.

There is a spot about 20 kilometers east of my residential area, very close to the Indian border, where people from a nearby visit for recreation. This place is named Outfall. The Sutlej River enters Pakistan from the Indian border, and the twin canals flowing in Pakistan also join the Sutlej River at this exact point.
At the confluence of the Sutlej and the twin canals, large stone embankments have been constructed to prevent water from entering the nearby residential areas in flood situations. Where facilities like boating, fishing, and fresh fish of river Sutlej for food are provided for river excursions. Apart from this, families prepare their own food from home and spend the day camping there and enjoy the views there.

Since this spot is located very close to the Indian border and at the confluence of the twin canals of the river, there is no development work, etc. and other private people are also reluctant to make any kind of investment. For this reason, there are no facilities for eating and living at this spot, but a few people from the nearby residential areas catch fresh fish from the river Sutlej and build small huts and barbecues there for selling it to visitors.

Whenever I think of refreshing my mind out of my routine life, this spot is the first thing that comes to mind. Let me tell you some of the qualities of this spot that will give you an idea of how mind-relaxing this spot is. Several embankments made of huge stones add to the beauty of this spot wonderfully. The view of the sunset from there is heart-touching. When the rays of the sun fall on the water there, you don't get to see such a scene anywhere else. There, a trip on the river by riding in small boats made of wood holds its own charm.

Apart from all this, you have complete freedom there to do fishing as well. Sometimes hooking a larger-than-expected fish while fishing there can overpower other pleasures. In the evening, the lights on the Indian border can be easily seen from this spot, which further adds to the charm of this spot. Since this spot is away from the urban area as well as quite far from the rural area, it has a distinct feeling of silence. The sound of water falling from the canals into the river also has a different feeling.

I often feel quite blessed in the company of my friends who often plan outings and barbeques etc. Most of our plans are made keeping this spot in mind. The distance of this spot is about 20 km from our residential area due to which it is easy to go there by motorcycle. There is also an opportunity for boating and barbecuing fresh fish from the river Sutlej, and fishing is included as a sport for recreation, and competition is held to catch the biggest and best fish. While fishing, two teams are formed; half of the team members try to catch fish from the river with the help of hooks, while the other team members look for insects, etc. from the bank of the River, which is used as bait for fishing. This activity is also very relaxing.
