Wednesday educational theme- Leadership
Assalamualaikum dear people. Today I'm going to talk about leadership 'What is the role of leaders and what are the main traits associated with successful leadership' which I learned in my class of management.

I chose this topic because for me it's very good and inspiring to have to the ability to lead and influence others. And in today's world it's necessary too. To bring others to your way of thinking without any kind of force.
The role of leaders
Here are some points that would make us understand the role of leader, what they actually do to influence others.
- They set the example, act like a role model for others.
- They have the ability to communicate well.
- They try to gain support from others in an effective manner.
- They motivate others, empower them and work for their development.
- They track and manage performances. Like If someone's going wrong in any way, they need to manage it.
- Recognize accomplishments and appreciate others and celebrate their success in order to motivate them for more better performance.
Traits associated with leadership
To be a better leader, we need to know some traits linked with successful leadership.
1- Drive
Leaders show a high effort level. They have a high desire for achievement. Means They are ambitious and have a lot of energy. And they also show initiative by doing things first.
2-Desire to lead
Leaders have a strong desire to influence and lead others. They show the willingness and interest to take responsibility.
3-Honesty and Integrity
This point is I think mandatory in anything to be successfully done.
Leaders build trusting relationships with followers by being truthful and honest. And they do what they say.
4-Self confidence
Followers look to leaders for an absence of self doubt. So leaders need to show and have self confidence in order to convince followers or other people.
5-Intelligence
Leaders need to be intelligent enough to gather and interpret large amount of information, and they need to be able to solve problems, and make right decisions. The characteristics that an intelligent person possess you know.
6-Job relavant knowledge
Good leaders have high knowledge about different matters. They can make well-informed decisions if they have in depth knowledge.
7-Extraversion
Leaders are energetic, lively people. Means they are active in social activities too. And they donot remain silent when there's a need to say.
We can be successful leaders if we've the ability to have these traits.
We all can be good leaders. For me, the ability to influence others and to lead others is really something.
