About My Country "Nigeria"

Talking about any country is not actually easy, giving proper details about that country also shows you know alot about such a country.

You can discuss with your loved one the name of the country, its characteristics, special features, special places, or some special rules that make you feel proud.

I am going to be discussing about my country Nigeria because it's my country and I know it better than any other country.

Nigeria is a country that was under the colonial rule for more than a decade. Nigeria later gain her Independence from the great Britain in 1960 with it's ceremonial president as Dr Nnamdi Azikwe. After his third year of in office Nigeria officially became the Federal republic of Nigeria.

My country Nigeria has a lot of traditional believe, norms and way of life. I will be educating you all about the lifestyle of the various tribes of Nigeria and much more. The hausa tribe located in the North occupies majority of the land mass of Nigeria and is the most popular tribe in Nigeria due to its population and way of life.

During the early 1900s when the Fulani clan invaded the hausa tribe and dominated the whole place the "Hausa and Fulani" live together in harmony. The Fulani and Hausa clan are well known for their horsemanship, they usually engage in numerous festival that attracts tourist from far and near.

The hausa have a tribal marking that is usually on the chick. This helps them the know that you belong to there clan or dynasty. The hausa are mainly moslems as well as the fulani people. The hausa people like rearing cattel and planting crops like corn, onions, garlic and cucumbers etc.

They love trading, Kano is a Northern state in Nigeria and has one of the largest market in Nigeria as well as West Africa.

We know move to the Igbo tribe which originally originated from the Nri clan back in AD340. The Igbo tribe today are people with good characters and behavior. They speak a language that is also equivalent to tribal name known as Igbo. The Igbo tribe like to engage in activities like wrestling tournament and festivals like the New yam festival and cola festival etc.

The Igbo people are mainly Christians and are usually Catholic. The Igbo people are respectful and hard-working individual who like trading. In Nigeria the Igbo people has the highest amount of traders in the country.

I am from the Igbo tribe and am really proud to be a boy of the Igbo tribe.

2. Nigeria has the largest bridge in Nigeria which is located in the biggest city of Nigeria known as the mega city which is Lagos, the bridge is called the thrid mainland bridge.

3. More than 500 languages are spoken in Nigeria.

4. Nigeria is popular for being the gaint of Africa.

5. Nigeria was Named after the river Nile by Flora Shaw.

In which achievements is your country famous like tourism, sports, medical, engineering, technology, agriculture?

My country Nigeria is famous for "Tourism and Agriculture". Nigeria has a lot of tourist attraction sites which are

1. Obudu mountain resort.

2. Lagos international museum.

3. Osun scared grove.

4. Badagry slave route.

5. Cross River international museum.

6. Olumo rock.

7. Yankari game reserve.

8. Mamu river forest.

9. Shasha river forest etc.

Let me educate you all a little about two of this tourist sites.

Firstly let's begin with the Shasha river forest. The Shasha river forest is located in Osun state Nigeria. It is also a state that engages in Agriculture a lot, especially cultivating cocoa.

The next is the Obudu mountain resort. This was formally known as the Obudu cattel ranch. Due to early discovered of the Obudu mountain resort by M. McCaughley a man from Scotland in 1951. He was the first explorer back in the 1900s to reach the ranch/resort.

He then decided to camp on the mountain of the Oshie Ridge on the sankwala mountains before to his fellow explorer with Hugh jones and also Dr Crawfeild and they all explored and developed the ranch.

Agriculture

Nigeria Is a country that loves agriculture a lot and like to cultivate tubber crop, fruits and cereals. Like rice, wheat, cooca, palm oil, crude oil, millet, mango, groundnuts, soybeans, bananas, rubber, garlic, onions, pepper, yam, cashew nuts, plantain, kolanuts etc.

Yam are mainly produced in Cross River, Imo, Ondo, Osun, Benue, Kogi state etc. While cocoa is been in Ogun, Osun, and Cross River state. Nigeria is the largest oil producing Nation in Africa, the state in Nigeria that produces or has this oil is no other than the Niger Delta.

My country also has maize that are produced in the northern states like the Kogi, sokoto, bronu, adamawa, kano and other states like Cross River, Imo, Ondo, and bayelsa state.

Proud Nigerians

Nigeria presently needs infrastructure and good governance. The political members in control do not care about the masses in terms of good roads, The Price of goods, High cost of petroleum, standard of living and interference with others right as citizens.

My country presently needs to make everywhere to be morden in terms of infrastructure and the well being of the citizens. My country presently is going through economic crisis and really needs to get everything back to normal.

I also suggest that the leaders equip the citizens with morden farming equipments in other to make farming faster and enjoying and also to enhance the supply of farm produce in the market.

This is an open contest and apart from this, if you want to tell anything else then you can add it.

I will like to use this medium to advise those on the steemit platform and also educate you about the way to success in life.
