This is a known problem that is unfortunately very hard to fix. Since some other glitches can crash the game or require refresh, those have usually taken priority, but considering these poison/lightning related bugs can affect the outcome of a game, they are still considered important, just not as much as others.

Ideally, all bugs will be fixed, but attempting that would make the update pretty bleak in terms of everything else, so I tend to only fix a few bugs each update. Maybe this could be one of them however, I'll take another look and see if it requires as much rewriting as I originally determined.
