Random Thread #1: Name the Murray Lion (aKjDA)
The Murray Lion is a piece in chess variants that is able to jump to the second orthogonal or diagonal square, or attack only to any adjacent square. It is a powerful doublebound piece with very good defense but can only change its binding by attacking enemy units or by being swapped.

The question is what animal/creature/whatever would make the most sense for the Murray Lion (Lion is a safe but boring answer)?

Bonus question: Let me know if you think the Murray Lion makes the most sense being in Chess Evolved Online, Chess Dynasties, Favor Chess, Chess Battle Advanced, or whatever "Chess Evolved Online 2" is.

You have a typo in your post, it should be aKjDA but you have the K lowercase. I actually designed a similar piece for CD, but without jumps: DAaK. The boundness is definitely quite interesting.
I feel like Murray sounds like a potential animal type to the uninformed that naming it "Murray" and putting it in is fine. (I didn't know it was named after a person until I looked it up.) However I would suggest some fast-ish animal like Tiger or Monkey.

yeah, a DAaK is a decent but doublebound unit, but I still prefer the aKjDA as it is a powerful piece despite the binding.
and yeah your balance quiz inspired this thread (mostly the RP farm part though)
I'll go with 'Raven'.
Unfortunately I don't know that much about CD/ CBA/ CEO2, but between Favor Chess and Chess Evolved Online I'd say it fits in either but probably moreso Favor Chess. It sticks to 'normal' chess moves and has a simple movement pattern, and no upgrade path is given.
Here are more Murray Lion tiers in case it becomes a CEO piece.
Lynx. It's feline, prowling, jumping on prey, and not as safe / boring or commonly referenced.
I like that one! (Although I like puns too, so it's tempting to make a pun with the name using a "linking" theme (like two units linking together), in other words a "links" mechanic)
