Fort Rodman/ Fort Taber

in Pictures Diary3 years ago (edited)

I have shared posts and photos of walks around Fort Taber and mentioned Fort Rodman, well this post will focus on Fort Rodman.
I most often visit this area in the early morning when not many people are around and if there is a nice sunrise one can get a shot like this

The fort which was also known as the old Stone Fort, and the Fort at Clarks Point until 1898, construction of the Fort started in 1857.
As built is had 72 cannons in three tiers, they had originally planned a fourth tier, but that was dropped to speed up the completion time for the fort

Another sunrise shot of the fort from a different angle
