today is the world of science and technology

It is so sad that people more and more these days believe and trust in science and technology instead of following what they've been taught as children, those values and those beliefs.

To jump in, as you have put it, is not always that easy. As humans, we are scared of the unknown and not always willing to take that first step to actually discover the unknown.
