Most time in my life, I would just sit down and begin thinking of my past mistakes when an opportunity was being offered to me, but due to my lack of knowledge or pride, I missed it because I thought life was full of roses when one has acquired a degree and gain a recognition. Today, if I should be allowed to go back to my past through a time machine and correct my mistakes or improve the things I didn't do right, it would be correcting the ignorance that made me miss out on two opportunities that would have uplifted my life today.
In the year 2017, I went for my industrial training and I found myself working in one of the biggest hotels back then in my town. While working in the hotel, I came in contact with people of different caliber, classes, and social status, people from Nigerians and outside Nigerians do come to the hotel and lodge.
I was nice to some and I wasn't nice to some, and some gave me good advice to focus on my education so I can graduate with a good grade, whereas some advised me, to be serious with my life, and never to miss an opportunity. As a student whose work in the hotel was just temporary, I took the advice of going back to school very seriously, and never thought of anything else. All that I thought about was how I would be living my life when I got back to school, and so on.
While working in the hotel, I became a friend of a very young man who is into car dealing and other businesses. The man hardly stays in the hotel for long and whenever he comes to the hotel it must be with a brand new car that he wants to give to someone before leaving the hotel, he will hand over the car key and documents to me, including the receiver's contact.
I became a third party all of a sudden, and due to how loyal the man saw me, he offered me an opportunity to travel with him, which I had thought of, and was eager to travel abroad with him, since he is someone who hardly stays in Nigeria. However after several days of thinking and comparing his offer with my education, I turned down the opportunity that was presented to me and decided to go and complete my study.

Now today, I have completed my studies, and the man number is nowhere to be found, I cannot see such an opportunity. My greatest mistake was missing the opportunity that would have changed my life, and I have come to realize my mistake. Had it been I accepted and followed the man, I would enrolled myself in a foreign school based on the country I would have been to and my financial status, connection, and other things would have changed for good.

Hmmm, this is a true saying: "Opportunity knocks but once." You don't have to bitterly regret your decision, because you can't tell whether that would have been the best for you. What matters the most is that you're happy with your life, and you still have more years ahead of you to make all your dreams come true! Success!!

Muchas veces hemos dejado pasar el tren de las oportunidades y mira que son pocas las que realmente te llevan al éxito, pero así es la vida, está llena de aciertos y desaciertos.
Pero ese tren vuelve a pasar y te aseguro que podrás tomar la decisión y el riesgo, con mayor preparación y estudio, eso también tiene ventajas comparativas.

Por eso dicen que las máquinas del tiempo nos pueden dar oportunidades increíbles en este caso tú quieres viajar al pasado para volverte a reencontrar con esa persona que te estaba ofreciendo la oportunidad de tu vida, en cuanto a lo laboral y que despreciaste por seguir tu corazón y dedicarte a tus estudios.
No sabemos que hubiera pasado en ese viaje, dicen que lo mejor es lo que sucede, Aunque quizás si haces este viaje al pasado pudieras darte cuenta Y fue un error o no el haber decidido por tus estudios en el pasado.
Lo que sí es cierto amigo mío es que al pasado no podemos regresar, Así que hay que aprender a vivir con las decisiones que tomamos.

I shouldn't just generalize that everything's happen for good as we all have memories that we can't dream of to happen again. Your mistake in the past(2017) can be fix if we use our present to correct our past. Thanks for also sharing your experience.
