Steemit Engagement Challenge / S19/W2 - Finding Beauty in Forgiveness and Helping Others

Initially, I thought of writing about the beauty of nature, especially since the northern areas of Pakistan are incredibly beautiful, and I could easily write about the beauty of nature there. But then I realized that many people might be doing the same or that everyone is generally attracted to this kind of beauty. So, I thought of writing about celebrities or skills, but then I reflected on what beauty truly means to me. For me, the most beautiful thing is the habit of forgiving others.

I am most attracted to people who are cheerful, have a pleasant demeanor, and smile often. These are the people who forgive others and don't hold grudges. They don't let small things make them angry or upset.

In life, people want to achieve a lot and have big dreams. One of the biggest desires is to meet an honest person who won't betray them. However, very few people actually get to fulfill this wish because it's not entirely in their hands; it depends a lot on fate. But what is in a person's control is their ability to become that kind of person themselves.
By becoming an honest and a forgiving individual, someone who spreads happiness and fulfills the dreams of others can find the true joy.

There's a famous saying by Mahatma Gandhi: "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."

This quote perfectly encapsulates my belief. When you strive to be the kind of person you wish to meet, and you bring joy and forgiveness to others, you find true beauty and fulfillment in life.

It is saying that,

"Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong one. When you have the power to punish and still choose to forgive that is the true forgiveness. When you are powerless and let go something or someone, it is not forgiveness but helplessness."

This quote profoundly resonates my thinking. True forgiveness is not about having no power over something or being unable to act like you want but about choosing to forgive when you have the power to exact retribution. This form of forgiveness is not just an act of kindness but also a testament to inner strength.

The Beauty of Forgiveness:

To me, Forgiveness the highest form of beautyy. It’s a trait that reveals profound and insightful strength and good character. When someone can forgive despite having the ability to strike back or seek vengeance it truly demonstrates his nobility and inner peace.

In my 20 years of life I have seen how individuals with a forgiving nature can transform any relationship and uplift their surroundings. The beauty of forgiveness lies in its ability to mend broken bonds and heal the emotional wounds whould would never be filled without forgiving. When someone can overlook wrongs and offer forgiveness it’s an act that speaks louder than words.

In personal experiences, I've found that choosing to forgive has been more rewarding than holding onto grudges. For example, despite knowing about the wrongs done by some close ones, I chose to forgive them. This act of forgiveness, rather than leading to more resentment, has helped mend relationships and foster mutual respect.

The Role of NGOs and Helping Hands:

On a larger scale the beauty of forgiveness can be seen in the selfless work of various NGOs and different community organizations. In Pakistan especially in Karachi, the biggest and the most populatedcity, organizations like Al-Khidmat, Saylani Welfare and Edhi Foundation are prime examples of collective forgiveness and support. They try to provide food, education and shelter to everyone who is in need and embodying the spirit of giving and compassion.

Also In my university, several societies and student made NGOs work tirelessly to aid the underprivileged. I am a part of two organizations, SAAYA and PWA. We organize various initiatives, including free water supplies in hot weather(many more) and healthcare services in government hospitals. All These efforts are driven by the same spirit of compassion and forgiveness, aiming to provide relief and support to those who need it most.

Forgiveness has deeply impacted my personal life. By choosing to forgive rather than hold onto resentment, I have found a sense of inner peace and happiness. The act of forgiveness often requires more strength than seeking revenge.

As Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "The one who does not show mercy to people will not receive mercy from Allah."

The concept of forgiveness is not just about letting go of past hurts but also about improving one's future.

Bernard Meltzer wisely noted,
"When you forgive, you in no way change the past—but you sure do change the future."

This change is crucial for personal growth and happiness.
