Martin Wickramasinghe was born on May 29 in 1890 in Koggala. His parents was Lamahewage don bastian wickramasinghe and Magalla balapitiya liyanage thochchohamy. As a child he learned the Sinhala alphabet from the monks of the village temple. He then entered the Bonavista School. It is a school in Galle. There he learned Latin and English. After the death of his father he entered a Sinhala school in Ahangama.

In 1914 Martin Wickramasinghe began his literary career. His first novel was 'Leela'. Gamperaliya, written by Martin Wickramasinghe in 1944, is now known as one of the greatest novels in the history of fiction. Some of his novels are also known as trilogy novels. They have been named as Gamperaliya, yuganthaya and Kaliyugaya. The novel 'Viragaya' was written by Martin Wickramasinghe in 1956 and is still considered as one of the greatest novels in Sinhala literature. He married Premaya Silva in 1926 and they have six children. A series of articles has been issued in 1975 on the occasion of your 85th birthday as the great sage Koggala.

really this location is very peaceful. l was able to go there with my friends. other thing is in this location have model of an ancient wind-powered iron smelting technology in Sri Lanka. Martin Wickramasinghe house tells the story of the villagers and the equipment used by the villagers in history.

Martin Wickramasinghe has created several literary works. Leeka, soma, madol duwa, gamperaliya, kaliyugaya, yauganthaya, mirigu diya, rohini ara some of them. Martin Wickramasinghe passes away in July 1976 after a great service to Sinhala literature.

This place has been converted as money making place. Actually there is no such a place. There is a place similar to the story. But you can visit his home. It is good to seen.

I have read some of these books and still, I have the book 'Virgaya' to read, so after reading this article I'm gonna read it, bcz I totally forgot about that book.

One of great writer in our country.
