Vesak is the cultural event for Sri Lankan Buddhist people that takes place on the day of the full moon in the month of May. Not only that, Vesak is observed in several Asian countries, including India, Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan. It is celebrated them in festivity and making vesak lanterns, Vesak koodu. vesak thoran and giving food freely for people. It is called as a dansala.But these days we can’t celebrate it as before because covid 19.It is spread fast. Because of that it is celebrated in our own houses with family members.

Vesak koodu are made by all of Buddhist people’s houses in Sri Lanka.there are different vesak koodu, such as Atapattama, Daha Atapattama, Nelum Mala and Tharuwa. Vesak koodu could be made with our family members because these days most people are in their houses because corona virus.

Making Vesak koodu is very enjoyable thing when make together with friends such as Finding wood, papers, glue. And after tie woods and attached paper as design of that.

Vesak poya day night and in this week, we go to look wonder of Vesak.But this year we had to look it our own house because under this situation in our country.
