The lesson, I learned at my old age.
My daughter-in-law’s mother, brother, and wife, along with their daughter, arrived at my son's house last night. They had to take their daughter to Colombo Ninewells Hospital to have her ear pierced. They were from the North Central Province and arrived at my son's house last night intending to leave early the next morning. Today, at 7.23 a.m., was an auspicious time. As a result, they left my son's house around 5:00 p.m. Daughter's mother did not accompany them; instead, she planned to leave with them in the evening after spending little time with her daughter.
We spent several hours chatting and laughing with them before dinner. We arrived at our house late at night after having dinner together.
As their mother waited with my son, I decided to make caramel pudding for them to bring. I asked my husband to bring a milkmaid tin and eggs for that. Then I prepared two containers, one for us and one for them. I kept one in the rice cooker and the other in the pressure cooker. I sat in front of the computer to access steemit after waiting for them to boil. I responded to every notification and spent several hours commenting and voting.
After a half-hour, I went to the kitchen to check on the pudding in the rice cooker. Because it was nicely set, I gave it some time to come to room temperature.
When I opened the pressure cooker, I noticed that the water inside had turned blue. It was because, I had placed a blue kitchen towel at the bottom of the pressure cooker before placing the pudding container. When the water began to boil, the dye from the towel dissolved and turned the water as well the pudding blue. The blue dye combined wh the water in the pressure cooker caused this. I was hesitant to eat them because the pudding had been colored. And I secretly discard everything without telling my husband because he would chastise me. We all learned a lesson, regardless of our age. The lesson I learned not to keep the colored kitchen towel at the bottom of the pot when boiling the pudding.
I put the pudding in the refrigerator to set after it had completely cooled. Then I get a shower and went to my son's house to deliver the pudding to their mother.
Her brother and sister-in-law had arrived with their daughter by then. I was shown a video of her ear piercing. The doctor had put some cream in her ear and then clicked her ear once with a machine. The baby pretended she didn't know anything. It was lovely to watch her reaction when her ear was pierced.
Then we all had lunch together, and they left my son's house around 4 p.m., intending to arrive at their house before late night.
It's good that I got to know this because caramel pudding is my favourite dessert, and I know now what not to do when making it.
It's my pleasure; someone has learned from it.
