Good morning, my dear friends! As you all are aware, this is durian season. Today I receive a Durian from one of my neighbors. Although it has a bad smell, I prefer eating Durian because of its sweet flavor. But some people hate durian because of its bad smell. But my all-family members like to eat them. We never forget to buy one or two durians on the way to Kandy because we all are fond of durian.

Today, I'm going to provide you with some additional information about durian: though you eat them, you may not be aware of all these facts.

Sri Lanka Durian information

It is said that in the 16th century Portuguese bring Duran to Sri Lanka from Southeast Asia. Though Sri Lanka's climate is not good for growing Durian, it can be found easily in shops in the resort town on the southern coast during the harvest season. Some people in Sri Lanka try to cultivate it for commercial purposes.

Durian is grown well in Sri Lanka's Mathale, Kegalle, and Kandy districts. It can also be grown in the Gampaha and Kalutara districts. In Gampaha District's Minuwangoda area, a durian plantation was scheduled to be expanded. It costs between Rs. 400.00 and Rs. 700.00, in Sri Lanka.
