Went to see them before the new year | SL charity project- Elpitiya | 25% for SL charity

Life is so wonderful. If we can surprise and delight another person in this wonderful life, if we can help them make their little dreams come true, what a great gift it is. If a word can help a person , if it can be strong, that is the most beautiful thing we can live as human beings.

We tell the story that the happiness of the little hut is not in the big mansions. That's not true.
There are so many families inside this little island who get wet during the rainy season and drink a cup of water to quench their hunger. Do a little something for people like that .. Be strong for them.

Our team at Steem Sri Lanka was able to help five innocent families like this.

We left Hikkaduwa at 8 in the morning after finding these five innocent and beautiful families in a beautiful village called Karandeniya in the Galle District.

It was a difficult journey but we all travelled with joy in our hearts.

We first went to the Karandeniya temple. It was the Chief Thero of the temple who gave us the details of these five families. Also, @rasinkani should be reminded here.. So with the blessings of the great monks, we all started the journey.

A little boy who was waiting for us in front of the house saw us and ran inside . There were several other little children in that house. When we gave them the gifts we brought, tears welled up in their eyes because these little things were a big help to them.

That house is a very small one. I even saw a mosquito net hanging in their living room. That means they even sleep in the living room. And their kitchen is not built properly yet. I thought how lucky we are to have all the essentials like money and food.

The main cause of great economic difficulty for many families is the loss of daily jobs due to the corona epidemic. I can't tell you how beautiful that smile was on their faces when we took gifts and went to see them on this Sinhala New Year.

After talking to them for a while, we went to the next targeted houses. The road to the next house is a bit difficult. We parked our vehicles on the side of the road. We took the gifts and went home. The little one in the small house on a small hill was waiting from the top of the hill for us to arrive.

The parents at home do the cinnamon crushing job. But lost it because of the corona. They are paying for a very difficult time frame. I heard that that mother is suffering from pain in her hand as she worked hard for earning more money for upcoming new year days. How much do these stories painful?

In that sense, what is wrong with us?

Next, we went to another very small unbuilt house on a hill. At first glance, it seemed that the woman was suffering greatly. But there was always a genuine and very loving smile on her face. She said she has 6 children. Despite her financial difficulties and other problems, her only goal was to teach her children well. While the girls in our group were chatting with her, several of us boys went back to our vehicles to bring the luggage we had brought home.

We talked for a while in that house too and quickly went to the next house. A little girl of that house had come to take us to their house. We gave the gifts which we brought for them and we quickly went to the last home which we targeted.

We did not know the way to the house, so we stopped for a moment on the main road. Shortly thereafter, The mother of that family came to bring us to their home with her small daughter. They also had many economical problems like other families.

It was about 2 pm when we finally reached our destination. We felt tired from the journey but more than that our hearts remained happy.
