Tech Blog #168 | Samsung Galaxy M55 - Better than A55??

in Steem Sri Lanka6 months ago
Samsung knows what should be done. They know how to play in this world of smartphones. They produce a better looking smartphone with good cameras but they use their Exynos processor. So it is a win-win. They get to sell their in-house processor. And then they use a Snapdragon processor in a smartphone but some hardware are downgraded so still, the customer tends to go for the first smartphone. That's what I can see here with Samsung A55 and M55. Let's talk about the Samsung Galaxy M55 now.

The Samsung Galaxy M55 has a sleek design, weighing 180g and measuring only in 7.8mm thickness. It is available in both Dark Blue and Light Green colors. The phone has a premium build with a glass front and back, providing a sophisticated appearance and feel.

The Samsung Galaxy M55 has a stunning 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. This vibrant display produces crisp and clear visuals with a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits, ensuring at least average visibility even in bright sunlight. The display also features an optical under-display fingerprint scanner for easy and secure unlocking.

The Samsung Galaxy M55 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, which provides reliable performance for daily tasks and games even though it is what?? 2 years old? It has 8GB of RAM for smooth multitasking and is available in a single variant with 256GB of internal storage, which can be expanded further via a microSD card slot.

The Samsung Galaxy M55 has a versatile camera setup, including a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) for shake-free photos. It also has an 8MP ultrawide lens for capturing larger scenes and a 2MP macro camera for taking close-up shots. On the front, there's a 50MP selfie camera with a punch-hole cutout for high-quality selfies and video calls.

The Samsung Galaxy M55 is powered by a large 5000 mAh battery, which provides long-lasting performance for all of your daily tasks. It supports 45W wired charging, which is rare in a Samsung smartphone, allowing you to quickly recharge your device and return to use it with minimal downtime.

Although they belong to the same family, the Samsung Galaxy M55 and Galaxy A55 have distinct features. The M55 has a larger 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, compared to the A55's 6.5-inch Super AMOLED panel. While both phones have a 50MP main camera, the M55 has a higher resolution 50MP front camera and supports 45W wired charging, compared to the A55's 25W. Furthermore, the M55 uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, whereas the A55 uses the Exynos 1480.

The Samsung Galaxy M55 provides impressive features at a higher midrange price. It starts at around 560 EUR and includes a 120Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, and 45W fast charging. The device is designed for users who want a well-rounded smartphone experience, with an emphasis on display quality and camera performance. Overall, the Galaxy M55 is a competitive alternative to Samsung Galaxy A55. I think the M55 is better due to fast charging and better processor. You just have to sacrifice a little bit of downgrade in camera department and premium-like design of A55.
