If you've seen News Papers in early 2010s, you may have seen Smartphone advertisements from LG with crazy advanced technology than other brands. But can you see them now? LG tried many things to keep up their Smartphone Division. But it didn't work out. So finally, LG decided to Quit their Smartphone Division.
There was a time where LG had a Descent Spot in the Smartphone Market. There was no Xiaomi. Samsung had fairly less Share of the market. They had not only Smartphones. They produced Refrigerators, Air Conditioners, TVs etc. They still produce them. So LG had enough Capital to do anything they want. So why did they fail??
LG wasn't Consistent of What They Wanna Give to Customers. LG had capital. So they kept Experimenting on various things. But they wasn't Consistent. When one concept fails they quickly moved to another one. They didn't want to find what's wrong and fix it. Instead what they did is Find something worse than before and Apply them into Smartphones.
Once they made a Curved Smartphone. LG G Flex. Why would a man need a curved Smartphone? Is it because it'll fit into cheek when you take a phone call? It was top notch Technology by the way. They made a Flexible Battery and special P-OLED panel for it. But all went in vain.
But There were good inventions too. They were the first to Apply to FHD+ display on a Smartphone. They were the first to apply usable Dual Camera Setup on a Smartphone. They applied Ultra Wide Camera on Smartphones. It was really a Huge step forward in Smartphone World.
But people really love the Design of a Smartphone. But Designs of Last LG Flagships wasn't even close to other Smartphones. There were huge Notches and Bezels and Battery life was also low on those devices. All these things Deteriorated the Fame of LG Smartphones which was build through Years.
LG is planning to invest more in Electric Vehicle Components, Smart Home Devices and Robotics. LG plans to give updates for their smartphones for few months. It's hard to come back to Smartphone Market after a fall. We see Motorola is slowly dying too. That's the nature of Everything. Old Kings fall..New Kings Rise..
