Tech Blog #124 | Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 and Tab A9+ - Silently Announced..

in Steem Sri Lankalast year
Recently Samsung released their new Fan Edition lineup and that included 2 tabs too. But you know Samsung, that's not enough for them. They've released two more budget level tabs in the market. Let's take a look at those.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab A9 and Tab A9+ offer budget-friendly tablet options with varying features to cater to different user needs. The Tab A9 boasts an 8.7-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution lower than 1080P, while the Tab A9+ steps up with an 11-inch LCD panel with 1080P resolution. Both tablets provide respectable display quality, with the Tab A9+ delivering a larger viewing experience due to its larger size and higher resolution.

Under the hood, the Tab A9 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, accompanied by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, while the Tab A9+ is expected to feature the Snapdragon 695 chipset, offering up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. This difference in processing power makes the Tab A9+ a more capable device for multitasking and handling demanding apps. But I don't think the selection of processors is sustainable.

Talking about the camera department, it's not that good. Both has the same 8MP sensor on the back with AutoFocus while the vanilla version has only 2MP front cam and the Plu version has a 5MP cam. That's just not enough for 2023 as I feel.

Battery-wise, the Tab A9 comes with a 5,100 mAh battery with 15W wired charging support, while the Tab A9+ is equipped with a larger 7,040 mAh battery, offering good endurance. Both tablets support 15W wired charging for convenient top-ups. When considering its LCD displays, the power efficiency is low. Also, the processors are also not that power efficient. This could be a problem.

Pricing varies depending on storage and connectivity options, with the Tab A9 starting at around $150 and the Tab A9+ at approximately $250. These tablets can provide for day-to-day tasks, media consumption, and light productivity, even though they may not compete with premium tablets in terms of performance and camera capabilities. For those looking for an affordable and reputable tablet from Samsung, the Galaxy Tab A9 series is worth considering. But if you could just spend a coupleof bucks more, you can have a somewhat better tab from another manufacturer like Redmi or Realme.
