First Win for Mumbai Indians...
It was yesterday.. And it's MI Captain Rohit Sharma's B'day.. Mumbai Indians had to play against Rajasthan Royals as their 9th match. Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl first. So Jos Buttler and Dewdath Padikkal came to bat. They got into a decent start but only Buttler was able to get going..
Jos Buttler is been the most successful batsman this season. He's the most successful batsman in this innings too. He scored 67 runs being the anchor of the innings. He's the Orange Cap Holder with 566 runs. I think he's the fastest batsman to reach 500 runs in one IPL Season.
When Buttler was successful, batsmen like Daryl Michaell and Shimron Hetmyer were unable to find the middle of the bat well and they ended up getting out after wasting valuable deliveries. For the sake of the Late Circus of Ravi. Ashwin, Royals were able to put 158 runs at the end of their 20 overs.
Considering the history of Mumbai Indians batting in this season, Rajasthan Royals may have thought that there were enough runs on the board. When they took the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, they may have thought that they got the game.
Tim David came and smashed some boundaries. Pollard was on the crease but he was struggling to get going. And there were only 4 runs to score in the last ball and Pollard got out from the 1st ball of the over..
And the camera went in the direction of Rohit Sharma. I couldn't imagine what was going on in his mind. But things went well for him. Daniel Sams came and smashed a Sixer to win the match.
And that's how Mumbai Indians won their first match in this season. That's a good B'day Present for the captain. But this win is actually useless now. They've already been kicked out of the tournament. But this win saved the Mumbai Indians team from huge shame.. And that's a big thing for them..
