Fabric Shopping

I wanted to buy some fabric materials for so long but could not. It is hard to find good designs for bedsheets from Ambalangoda or Galle. I do not know how they select designs for their shops. It is like randomly picking this and this and this. No good choices at all. We can hardly find good design from Ambalangoda. Situation in Galle, not much differ.

So, we went to buy new fabric materials last Saturday. We wished to leave home by 6:30am but rain made us delayed. Hence it was around 7:30am when were leaving. We wanted to go buy train earlier but had to took a bus. So we took a bus from Ambalangoda to Colombo. It was around 10:30am when we reach there.

First we had something to eat as we could not have a good meal before we left. As I am very good in memorizing roads, I searched location using google maps. I was searching for a good shop for few time, hence knew some shops to go and see. So, we directly went there. It was at Keyzer St.

It was a small shop than I thought but had good collection of designs. It is completely a bedsheet material shop. They had a lot of baby type designs which we could not find from here. It was very hard to select among them.

Taking one yard from each is not productive. We need to buy at least 2 and half yards to make a bedsheet. Therefore I selected 5 designs out of the stock and bought 3 meters' pieces from each.

Their service is very good and they have delivery services. Normally service of Muslim shops is far better than service from Sinhala shops. They want to sell their products and for this they know that they want to keep their customers. But in our shops they do not want to sell their goods. This is common most of the times.

Anyway we could buy good set of fabrics from there. As we had time, we wandering around for a while. But our heavy bag was the main obstacle. Therefore we decided to take the bus back to Ambalangoda. We could come home around 5pm in the evening.
