A Charity work done by රෝද දෙකේ රස්තියාදුව - Planning Stage of the program - Chapter 01 - 5% Sl Charity

Hello everyone... I hope you all stay safe at your houses in this pandemic period. Today I am going to start a new article series related to charity work done by us. For the year 2020, this is the last charity work done by our motorbike group.

This is the 4th time, which we organized this kind of work. The total budget for this event was more than one million Sri Lankan rupees. We planned to give gifts to the students of schools in difficult areas for their new year, new school term. We gathered the rural area school list for selecting the schools for our charity work. Then we selected two schools among them for our event. Then we found the contact numbers of the principals of these schools. Our team leaders got their stationery & school bag requirements from principals for the new school term. We planned to give gifts to all students of these schools. According to the received details from schools, we prepared the material list & publish them on our Facebook group.

Facebook users agreed to provide us with the material we needed sooner than expected. Not only that they requested to expand the event up to more schools as well. According to their request, we added another school for our event. Within a day we were able to fulfill the target of this school too. Then a huge crowd requested to add another school for our charity program. After having a discussion, group admins decided to go to another school. This was a big task for us. But we knew that we are strong to face any condition. But unfortunately, Covid's second wave affected our mission. Some of the donators called & told us that they were unable to give the promised ones. Some were didn't respond to our calls & messages. But we have a promise to those innocent children. We knew that they are looking until we come with their gifts. How we beat their hearts. So we decided to complete this task whatever the obstacle. We informed about this charity works to our workplaces & got some support. If there were any deficiencies, we decided to pay them by us. But we were lucky to get some huge supports from our brother motorbike groups & traveling groups. Then we able to breathe a sigh of relief. With this feeling, stay tuned for the next chapters.
