Visited to Galle After a Month of Lockdown

After a month of lockdown, yesterday the country was open to usual traveling activities. My mother and I had a plan to visit Galle to purchase some goods. So we prepared to go in the morning. Usually, we travel by bus. The first thing was that whether there are buses. Anyhow when we get to the bus station, there were only two-three busses. All of them were CTB. The busses were not frequent. We got on the bus around 8.45 a.m and the bus left at 9.30 a.m.

There were very few passengers. There were free seats even when we arrived in Galle.

Even though 50% of the country is fully vaccinated, still we are careful to use face masks. It is annoying but still, we feel safe. I observed multiple playgrounds beside the road and almost all of them were covered with weeks. Even playgrounds of schools are covered with weeds to knee-high.

Galle bus station wasn't too crowded as past. Actually, there were very few busses. All CTB busses. But the town was quite crowded as normal. All shops are open. I saw a long queue in front of Dialog service center. We visited some clothing shops and the crowd was average. No less nor much. Everything seems normal. People are wearing masks and follow safety guidelines.

Tuk-tuk drivers were so eager to support. I guess they are back in action after a painful time.

People have started their work with a new hope. Especially for businessmen lockdown is a difficult time. Tourism is still down and also the education system. We must learn from what we faced during the last COVID wave.

Let's get vaccinated and keep social distance.
