Courage, Steem and Good Hearts Built This Temple Ground Up

In this world, there are little little coincidence that can change one's life. It is unforgettable that we could impact someone's destiny in a positive way.

It was last October, that my boyfriend and I planned to go out during his vacation. He proposed me to distribute some dry food for low-income families celebrating my birthday in the area that we were planning to visit. Actually, it was Hiyare, somewhere we hadn't visited and somewhere we had no connections. We were able to find a mobile number of a Thero from google map and we contacted him. He was kind enough to pick five families for us.

This visit changed Thero's destiny. On that day, he took us to a mountain where Thero is planning to build a new temple. It is normal that monks build temples in calm and quiet forests so that they can meditate without any disturbance.

He took us to a mountain through the forest. Believe me, there was not even a road to go up. Thero showed us the area where he is planning to build the temple building. Actually, there was nothing on that day except a wood skeleton.

Thero discussed with us about the plans in his mind. Thero said that he is going to cut a road from the village to the mountain. Honestly, I didn't believe that he could do this. This mountain was that tall. After our visit, my boyfriend asks Thero whether we can do anything. Thero said that he needs to buy some cylinders and it will cost about 12 000 LKR. In that day we gave 15 000 LKR that we had on our hands which I earned by writing here in steemit.

I didn't expect anything after that, but the first notification came on 24th October, after 6 days of our visit.

The photos evidenced that Thero has started building the temple and the roof is done. Still, I couldn't believe myself 'how did they transport all these roofing sheets to such a long distance by hand!'. My boyfriend's answer to this question is still in the bottom of my heart. ""හාමුදුරුවො හරි උත්සහවන්තයි කොහොම හරි ඕක හදනව"

There onwards Thero sent us multiple updates on ongoing work. Our meeting could be a huge motivation to Thero. Isn't it wonderful that unknown strangers suddenly meet and impact each others' lives?

Step by step the road had also been built. Few months after Thero wanted financial aid to buy Pipes and a motor to pump water to the temple. I couldn't afford the amount by myself and I proposed Steem Sri Lanka to provide the financial support with @sl-charity. Same time @ruwankumara who is an Electrical Engineer by profession, gave technical assistance to Thero to calculate motor power and pipe quantities.

Again isn't it wonderful that all our members contribute to this good work that we never expected?

It has been 6 months since our visit, but still, Thero keeps blessing and updating us about the developments of the new temple.

Every incident happening in this life has a meaning. In every minute, we impact someone in a positive or negative manner. Things are happening for a reason. From inside, I am very happy to see that Thero is going to fulfill his dream with courage. Theros courage, our STEEM and generosity, and villagers' kind hearts built a temple ground up.
