Soul (2020) - A Movie Review
SOUL (2020) – USA
Dir: Peter Docter
My Rating - 4.5/5
Do you like Animation movies?
I mean, most of us love Animation movies. We have seen movies like Ice Age, Shrek, Frozen, Despicable Me etc. in our school vacations when they’re streamed in our Television media. Although they’re labelled as ‘Kids Movies', Only enough they can be enjoyed by adults as well. the reason is that they are just so beautiful. on one hand gorgeous to look at and we can learn so many life lessons.
Pixar movie studio Has given us so many animation gifts and this movie Soul is their latest animation movie. This movie is directed by Pete Docter, the same guy who gave us Toy Story (1995), Inside Out (2015), Monsters Inc. (2001) and Up (2009). Of course I’m only mentioning the names of these movies in case someone actually reads this post in so that this will be suggestions to watch.
Soul Movie’s Story is built round a piano teacher who's been a failure throughout his entire life. One day he gets an opportunity to play together with his beloved idols, but just before his gig, He falls down a manhole and severely injured and hospitalised. While he's on oxygen we see his soul is sent to a whole other fantasy world that's beyond life. The movie ends with telling us the happiness in life can be consistent in smallest things and that life is a gift and we should live every moment of it.
What makes Soul a great film is for me that it many just to show us some deep philosophical concepts in life and death mind giving it simple definition through fantasy. We see Inside Out movie doing the exact same thing regarding our emotions. But here the creators do that about the concept of soul, in a way that anybody can understand and think about.
So it’s to me one of the best films of 2020 that came so far and it does have a good chance to grab the Oscar award for the best animation movie of the year. I highly recommend this to anybody who would love to watch a beautiful movie in two hours of their life.
Of course, you can watch with your family.
