As a whole, Sharp Objects offers a lot of good elements. The performances are strong across the board, with the cast breathing life into complicated characters. The concept is intriguing, and the characters are compelling, making the viewer invested in their stories. The soundtrack adds to the overall atmosphere, enhancing the viewing experience. The sets and locations are well-crafted and effectively captured on screen.

However, the love/hate relationship with the editing was notable to me in a negative way. Maybe merely subjective, but While it seamlessly bridges past and present at times, there are moments when it becomes a jarring collection of endlessly repeated flashbacks. The sets and locations, on the other hand, are excellent and skillfully captured.

Those chaotic flashbacks made the pacing, unfortunately, to present a challenge. The narrative progression is slow at first, sometimes to the point of stagnation in the primary plot. Bits of backstory and side character drama takes its time for the buildup. The acceleration of events in the final episodes, though, explodes with tension in my head.

In the end, while Sharp Objects, the show, has its compelling moments and is undoubtedly superbly performed, maintaining a great mood throughout its run. may have its drawbacks in pace for a fresh to slow burn, the brilliance of its performances, atmospheric mood, and overall storytelling make it a recommendation. Was struggling to get through, but it was worth it. Gothic slow burn, is what it is, and might be one of the finest. If you start watching this, you can't drop it in the middle, you HAVE to finish.
