Nine Arch Bridge

Ella is a very close area to my home town. I've passed it, when I was doing my A/Ls in every week end. But never visisted, though I was very much liked to visit it. So this time I decided to visit ella as a journey. It just took one and half hour to reach ella from Monaragala. My little sister also joined with me.

Ella Wellawaya road is one of the nicest roads which is covered with mountains and a mind soothing coldness. Rawana water fall is on the way, adding an extra beauty to the road. Anyhow it was about 9.30 when we reached Ella. As the first destination we thought to visist Nine arch bridge.

You might have seen that it is used in many videos made for attracting tourists to Sri Lanka. I can say that Ella is a paradise of tourists, after seeing lots of foreign and local people around. We had to do a small hike to reach the bridge from our staying. Therefore we were so tired at the moment. But that hike between pines trees and coldness was a beautiful memory to keep in mind.

Many visitors have gathered at the bridge, waiting for the train at 11.15 am. We took some photos till the train comes. The train is slowed down when passing the bridge. It's a nice thing to watch.

So do not forget to visit Nine arches bridge after knowing the exact time when a train is passing the bridge!
