Missing half

in Steem Sri Lanka3 years ago

Hello guys,

First of all, give me a chance to ask some questions from you. It is not necessary to give answers to me. You can keep it personal. It’s okay. But please think deeply and answer yourselves.

Did you already found your true love?

If yes, Are you sure? Do you consider him or her as your other half? Your soulmate?

And if no, how can you find your true love? Are soulmates really exist?

Okay, that’s all. So today I’m going to tell a little story. It’s come in the book of the Symposium which is written by Plato, actually, it is a Greek myth. A myth about your missing half. In ancient Greece there are so many philosophers, poets, play writers. So most of the time they gather together and give speeches and discuss great stuff. It’s called the Symposium.

So in Plato’s symposium, there is an interesting speech which is done by a great play writer Aristophanes. So here is the story.

A long time ago humans were spherical with two bodies. There were two of each body part. So they were weird creatures with two heads, two legs, and two hands. They walked forward and backward or crawl by using both hands and legs. How funny?

So what about gender? Yes, in ancient times there were three types of genders, not two. The first type was two male-bodied and they believe that this type of humans was descended from the sun. The second type was two female-bodied who were descended from the earth. And the third type was the one male body and one female body. And they were descended from the moon.

One day humans thought that they are more powerful than god. So they climb the Olympus mount and attacked the god. Zeus was very angry. But he didn’t want to destroy them. So he choked them from the middle into two parts. As they were connected by their tummy, after cutting them apart, there was a hole in the middle of the tummy. Greeks believed that this hole is what we called navel today. Okay after cut Zeus stitched them and turned their heads around. So from that day, humans are always looking for their missing halves. When they accidentally found their other half somehow, they were never being apart.

So that’s all about the story. I didn’t say to believe this. But I want you to think about it. In our world, there are both heterosexual and homosexual people. But in some countries, some people think homosexuality is a weird thing. They never try to even speak about it. And when someone ready to speak they label him or her as a homosexual person. But why? All humans are not the same as the other. Why can’t they be like their own? And the other question, is love is all about sex? Why always soulmate should be someone from your opposite gender? Couldn’t there be someone in your life that you love more than your husband, wife, girlfriend, or boyfriend? Someone you love unconditionally. Someone, you love more than yourself?

In my point, Soulmate is the person you know the most and the person who knows about you as much as you do. He or she may be your GF/BF, Friend, or sister/brother. It doesn’t matter what happens, they never leave you. They know all the secrets about you. A soulmate is someone who, you can trust with your life. Someone who, you can talk openly without hesitating.

So now think for a moment again, did you already found your missing half? If the answer is yes, you’re a lucky one.❤️

Sort:

Having a soulmate will make your life easy because he / she will be there for you no matter what happen throughout your life journey. I think someday everyone gets to find out their other half when the right time comes. ♥️

True❤️
