Hidden Mother Photography
Hello, friends today I’m going to write a story about some of the weird photography methods followed by Victorian-era photographers. So first of all look at some of the photos that were taken at the Victorian era.
Funny isn’t it? 😂 Yeah, some of them are creepy 🧟♂️. Do you want to know about the hidden story behind these photos? Okay, let’s move to the story.
We all know in ancient days technology was not so much good. The camera obscure was first invented in 1021 and the first portable camera was invented in 1685. The world-first photograph was taken in 1826. In 1820, it took almost 1 hour to take a photo. In early 1840 exposure time was decreased to several minutes. eventually, the technology was developed. In the Victorian period, it took 30 seconds to take a photograph.
In ancient times normally most families took group photographs with their children. But some parents wanted to take portrait photographs of their children. So for that children should freeze for 30 seconds. Because the cameras were not fast as today, this was the biggest problem. Some of the children were cried, some of them were constantly get distracted.
Nobody couldn’t keep them freeze for 30 seconds. To avoid this distraction photographers used some tricks such as keep birds and monkeys in cages. But without their parents, it’s too hard to keep small children comfortably. So most mothers kept their children on their lap or hand. And not to ruin the photo, they hide themselves by using dark color clothes or blankets.
Most of the mothers hid behind furniture and held their babies in their hands. Since most of them were used black curtains, they were looks like Muslim ladies who worn burkas.
Even though most of the women were able to camouflage with the background, some of the parents couldn’t fade into the background as well. So in some photos, some body parts of parents were captured.🥴
It’s all about time and technology. But these photos looks creepier in nowadays without knowing the back story. Yes, sometimes it’s a really funny thing to watch those photos. But who knows what happens in the future? Maybe future generations will laugh at present-day photos just like we did. 😂😂
When I looked at the photos I thought this was a ghost story🤣🙊
