Train Days...😎

As I mentioned in my previous post, I attend a night class in Negombo On Sundays. On our first days, somehow we came home by bus. One day it got late to end the class and we were waiting for a bus for hours.

One boy said that there's the last train to Chillaw and just after he said it we saw the train was going. We can see a railway cross from so far, to the bus halt where we wait.

But if we want to go by train, Negombo railway station isn't close to our class and we have to go there anyhow. So since the following week, we all were planning to go by train cus we usually don't go by. Funnily there was a friend who hadn't gone by train and she was very committed in forcing everyone to go by train.

Unluckily, train comes to the Negombo station around 10 pm. So it was hard for me to convince my mother to go by train. Anyhow I managed to make her agree and with the fuel crisis, there were a lot of friends, about 20, to go by train as well.

We had to walk to the railway station and it took us about 20-30 min. There were a lot of us, so we didn't feel tired or something. Actually, we enjoyed it.

With the gossip and all the talks, we reached the railway station even at a time like 9.30 pm, also in a town like Negombo. Sometimes I was wondering that is this the town which is soo crowded in the daytime.

Most importantly, there was a definite stop on the way. That's the Negombo branch of Arpico Super Center. We didn't forget to buy ice creams and stuff from there without concern about the time. There's no much distance from there to the railway station.

As the train arrives around 10 pm we have to wait till, so we eat, eat, eat and eat, and joke around since train comes. We tried out new cravings every day. Also, we could celebrate the birthday of my friend at the railway station. Those were happy hours with everyone.

Even on the train we met different kinda people and all those were new experiences for us. The bad thing is there's only one station before Kochchikade station, where we get off from. So I couldn't spend much time on the train like others, cus I was the one who got off first. These train days continued for a couple of months and it became like we were waiting ffor Sunday. (Not really, but tbh it was so fun)

Financially it's profitable if we can use train for daily outings. When it comes to our journey to Negombo it cost us only Rs.40 for both of us. At the same time if we choose bussin it costs around Rs.150.

But if we use train as our transport mode in the nighttime, it's so far good if it's crowded, more than having 2-3 people on it. Also, we have to go on time, which is so weak in me.

Even so, we put a full stop to our good old train days at night and again started awful bussing days. Here we again experience new things, as usual, day by day.

Sort:

Using trains is more economical and it makes us less uncomfortable. But these days the crowd is really bigger.

yep. also it feels different when a train arrives rather than waiting for a bus. i like it

One day you will call them as Good Old Memories! Don't forget to collect some random pictures of all.
