Nuestro Castillo/Our Castle
Hace seis años vivíamos en Lechería, Anzoátegui, Venezuela, habíamos vendido nuestro primer apartamento, que compramos con la ayuda de un préstamo de la empresa y adicionalmente habíamos pedido un crédito hipotecario; pero como el edificio se estaba deteriorando y además tenía sólo dos habitaciones y nosotros teníamos una hija y un hijo, queríamos que cada uno tuviese su habitación, por lo que mi esposa, quien fue la de la iniciativa, buscó una agente inmobiliaria y lo pudimos vender a muy buen precio. Simultáneamente, compramos un apartamento en obra blanca de dos habitaciones, pero vimos el potencial para hacerle la tercera habitación, además de que la ubicación era extraordinaria; ese apartamento lo llamamos “Nuestro Castillo”.
Six years ago we lived in Lechería, Anzoátegui, Venezuela, we had sold our first apartment, which we bought with the help of a company loan and additionally we had asked for a mortgage loan; but as the building was deteriorating and also had only two rooms and we had a daughter and a son, we wanted everyone to have their own room, so my wife, who was the one with the initiative, looked for a real estate agent and we were able to sell it at a very good price. Simultaneously, we bought a two-bedroom apartment in white work, but we saw the potential to make the third room, plus the location was extraordinary; that apartment we called "Our Castle".

Luego, como en el trabajo me tenían asignado en otra ciudad, viajaba todas las semanas, hasta que me transfirieron finalmente y fue entonces cuando también buscamos la transferencia de mi amada esposa, que fue una verdadera lucha lograrlo, pero con Dios de nuestro lado se hizo posible. Para comprar vivienda en el nuevo lugar de trabajo, teníamos que vender “Nuestro Castillo”, con el dinero obtenido de la venta pudimos comprar dos casas, con buena ubicación, pero les faltaba el toque para ponerlas como las soñamos. Empezamos con la remodelación de la casa que elegimos para vivir, al principio contratamos albañiles que no hicieron el trabajo como queríamos y además nos robaron material, después vino la crisis económica del país, donde los salarios se vinieron al piso y para completar, la pandemia. Los trabajos se han retrasado, en diciembre del 2020 pudimos reactivar una fase importante, ahora estamos reuniendo para realizar otra fase, para ello cada dólar que logramos ahorrar lo vamos guardando para sumar el monto necesario para pagar la mano de obra, porque ya tenemos gran parte del material.
Then, as my job had me assigned in another city, I traveled every week, until I was finally transferred and that was when we also sought the transfer of my beloved wife, which was a real struggle to achieve it, but with God on our side it became possible. To buy housing in the new place of work, we had to sell "Our Castle", with the money obtained from the sale we were able to buy two houses, with good location, but they lacked the touch to put them as we dreamed. We started with the remodeling of the house we chose to live in, at first we hired masons who did not do the job as we wanted and also stole material, then came the economic crisis of the country, where wages went to the floor and to complete, the pandemic. The works have been delayed, in December 2020 we were able to reactivate an important phase, now we are gathering to carry out another phase, for this every dollar we manage to save we are saving it to add the necessary amount to pay the labor, because we already have a great part of the material.
La cocina que queremos/The kitchen we want
Nos falta construir una platabanda que cubre dos habitaciones, frisar varias paredes, culminar los baños, terminar la cocina y hacerle el piso a toda la casa; estimamos que entre 600 y 1000 $ serán necesarios para culminar nuestro nuevo castillo, porque como mencioné antes, tenemos casi todo el material necesario. Quizás fuimos ambiciosos con la remodelación, pero queremos hacer nuestro sueño realidad.
We still need to build a floor that covers two rooms, smooth several walls, finish the bathrooms, finish the kitchen and floor the whole house; we estimate that between $600 and $1000 will be necessary to finish our new castle, because as I mentioned before, we have almost all the necessary material. Maybe we were ambitious with the remodeling, but we want to make our dream come true.

La casa tenía las tres habitaciones, pero eran pequeñas, por lo que decidimos tumbar varias paredes y así ampliarlas todas, adicionalmente le hicimos un baño a las habitaciones de nuestros hijos, que en el diseño original tenían un baño compartido. A comienzos del año pasado veíamos la culminación como muy lejana, por no decir imposible, pero el momento alcista de las criptomonedas en especial del Steem, nos han llenado de esperanzas, por ello estamos escribiendo y trabajando bastante para primero lograr cubrir nuestras necesidades básicas y ahorrar lo que podamos para poder finalizar “Nuestro Castillo”.
The house had the three rooms, but they were small, so we decided to knock down several walls and thus expand them all, additionally we made a bathroom for our children's rooms, which in the original design had a shared bathroom. At the beginning of last year we saw the completion as very distant, not to say impossible, but the bullish moment of cryptocurrencies especially Steem, have filled us with hope, so we are writing and working hard to first meet our basic needs and save what we can to finish "Our Castle".

La próxima semana, que será de cuarentena flexible, vamos a llevar a uno o dos albañiles, para conocer el monto del presupuesto de cada uno y elegir la mejor opción. Esperamos en este reinicio poder terminar la platabanda y el frisado de las paredes. Posteriormente iremos por la otra fase, que son los baños la cocina, para cerrar con el piso.
Next week, which will be a flexible quarantine, we will take one or two masons, to know the amount of each one's budget and choose the best option. We hope to be able to finish the platabanda and the framing of the walls during this restart. Later we will go for the other phase, which are the bathrooms and the kitchen, to close with the floor.

Nos faltaría construir la parrillera y un medio baño en el patio, para cuando invitemos a nuestros familiares a compartir una parrilla.
We still need to build the barbecue and a half bathroom in the patio, for when we invite our relatives to share a barbecue.
