Escape To The Hills – Day 03

We have planned 3 days trip to Nuwaraeliya. I have shared with you my experience and the places we visited during the last 2days of our trip. So, finally we came to the last day in Nuwaraeliya. This is about it.

As I said before, we have selected Omaya Hills hotel as our second day stay. We woke up early in Omay Hills to see the morning view of this place. This place is situated near to vegetables fields. We saw that people have come to their places to start their work. Beetroot, leeks, carrots and cabbage are the mainly planted vegetables in those fields.

We get ready and start walking around the village until our breakfast is ready. I had a dream to take a photo in the middle of tea plants. Hence, we went to a tea estate to fill my innocent dream. Actually, this area is so beautiful. All the mountains were covered with tea plants. When we come to this kind of beautiful place, that’s when realize how much our country is beautiful.

After having a good walk we came to our hotel room to have our breakfast. It was a typical Sri Lankan style breakfast of rice and curries. I must say when comparing the facilities here with Little England cottage facilities, the facilities here are not so good. Because the we faced some issues in the bathroom. But when thinking about the prices, the price here is lower than a little England cottage’s prices.

After finishing our breakfast, we get ready to back to our home. So, we hired a three-wheeler to go to the bus stand of Nuwaraeliya and took a bus to go the Nanu Oya Railway station. We went there around 1hour before to the train arrival time. We waited and waited. Suddenly we heard an announcement, and it said the train will be late around 1 hour. We have to face to the common public transport problem in Sri Lanka. We saw that many tourists came and also lots of local passengers. Everyone had to wait until the train’s arrival. I saw all of them were fed up with that.
