Supporting a Family in a Difficult Time | 10% for sl-charity

Hello Steemians!

SL Charity project is helping many people who really need the support ever since its beginning and it’s continuing its good work very actively. I hope everyone knows the situation that Sri Lanka is facing right now. Sadly, now we are the world’s 11th defaulted country. That means we do not have any foreign currencies to repay our debts to the international.

For that same reason, Sri Lanka is now lacking the necessary items for living such as food items, diesel, electricity, medicine and etc. As you all know, our country is a developing country for a very long time period and it’s still the same. Our society consists of many different people of all financial levels. With the exponential increase of all the necessary item costs for living and the scarcity, the poor have to face an even worse situation.

Considering these reasons, we decided to help some families who really need help in this Sinhala and Tamil new year season. There was a family that have 5 members. Three of them are elders and women. The other two are school-going children. The three women in this family are having a disease that weakens them physically. So they don’t have jobs and live with the help of surrounding people. My dear friend Aloka told me about this family and we should thank her for the effort she put to give these necessary items for them.

I hope in this new year, they can start with a smile on their face without worrying too much. They were really happy and encouraged us to do many more meritorious activities like this in the future. I think everyone in our steem Sri Lanka community should be proud of this because, without you all, this won’t be possible. So, I must thank you all for helping this good work.
