Hello Steemers!

To complete my academic life, I had to do various kinds of academics tasks. One of them is field visits. We learned theory every day on the campus. These field visits was a different kind of experience for me because I could be able to learn how those things were applied practically in the field.

In semester 5 there was a module called “Construction Management”. That’s the subject that helped us to go on these field visits. Actually, we went to 2 different field visits on 2 different days. One is a high rise building in front of the Galle face. Another one is a big housing complex in Homagama. Both field visits were very interesting.

Of these 2, my favourite one is ITC tower Colombo 1. It is a hotel. The special thing about this is the sky bridge. That is because this is a two-tower combination with one 29 floors and the other one is 49 floors. I had had to climb to the highest one which is a huge opportunity for me. I have never seen that kind of a hue construction. The types of equipment they use are remarkable. When we were there they are concreting the 42nd floor. You can see the view from there.

The other place we went was the Mount Clifford Residencies Homagama. When we were there luxury and semi-luxury homes were constant in progress. This complex is consists of everything people need to in the same place which is very healful. They told us the houses are all sold out within a short period of time.

Beautiful views. I can remember we stopped and counted the number of floors of that building infront of Galle face 🙊

Haha. I am glad you remember. Those days were the best.

wow.. I like the view of the second photo.

Thanks, sis. I also really like it.

Field visits are very important because it gives you so many constructional ideas and views on their construction stages. Your in-plant training may not cover these types of constructional stages too.

That is because this is a two-tower combination with one 29 floors and the other one is 49 floors

Seems an amazing design too.
Happy to see these pictures and important posts too.🙏🙏🙏

I'm glad you like it. Theoretical knowledge is important. But these kinds of field visits gives us Practical knowledge which is very important.

Yeah, one of the best field visits! There was so much to learn from both the sites, thanks to dr. Chandana

You are right. We learned so much things here. Thanks to dr Chandana.

I think there's a big stream of air upstairs🙄. We can flyyyy

Yes malli. Flying is also very difficult in that kind of wind conditions.😂

I have seen this building in front of galle face. i think, this is good architectural and structural design.

It really is. This will resist even for a tsunami🤪
