Reason to achieve sustainability in construction industry

Worldwide raw material consumption by building industry is 3 billions tons annually. As a percentage 40% of global use of raw materials.

40% of global energy is consumed by buildings during construction and operation.

Less indoor environmental quality has become a major reason for cancers and respiratory diseases etc and 30% of buildings falling with some kind problems due to sick building syndrome.

16% of global fresh water is used annually by manufacturing of building components, construction and operation.

We can reduce raw material consumption by using recyclable, reusable and regenerated materials. And we need to promote usage of renewable and perpetual energy. Source control, sufficient ventilation and indoor air measurements can manage the indoor environmental quality. Usage of portable water can be reduced by using recyclable water, reusable water and using grey water.
