A visit to a temple on a hilltop | 5% for SL Charity

Hi Friends!

I told you that me and my sister came to our aunt’s place at Balangoda. We planned in many evenings to go somewhere but the rain interrupted us. So today we decided to go somewhere in the morning. Our uncle was not home today so we couldn’t go far away. Therefore we got ready to go to the temple in the town.

We went around the garden to pluck flowers and there I we saw two flowers has bloomed in the pond in the corner of the garden.

We packed the things and got ready to go as we should come back before evening as it would most probably rain in the evening.

The road to the temple was not an easy one. It is not well built and we had to climb some hills as the temple is situated on the peak of a hill. In some places the roads gradient was very high which made us walking like snails. I was the youngest one among us and also the most tired one when climbing. I knew that even before going there as I have faced some difficulties with the lower pressure in the higher places. I anyhow came to the temple slowly. But I was a little ashamed that I was worse even than the two aunties went with us.

When we went to the temple, the tiredness in me disappeared with the scene that we could see from there.

The whole town can be seen from there.

Also some well known rocks like Pettigala and Dethanegala are visible to there.

We who were amazed with the beauty spent some time there and took some photos too.

Then we did religious activities and had a walk in the temple. The temple had some structures built in it regarding some incidents happened with load Buddha.

Also there was a statue which we can go in. but unfortunately we could not go in to it as that was closed that time.

As well, the flowers bloomed in the plants everywhere in the garden added much to its beauty. Some of the flowers were ones that we had never seen as they specially grow in this region.

We spent some more time there watching the beauty of the nature and feeling the refreshing wind come from the hills. But after some time some dark clouds came and we had to think about returning home.

When we were about to come back, a rain drop or two fell on us. So we immediately returned back. It took less time to come back than going there as what we have to do when returning was climbing down the mountains. So returning was easy.

Luckily we could come to home without being wet by the rain. I was so lazy to go in the beginning but felt relaxed and happy after this journey.
