Weekly CRICKET Review - III | Just 5 days before the festival

So, how are you, my friends? Just 5 days before the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022. Are you excited as I am? I bet you are!

It was a very entertaining week passed. Did you watch them? Don't worry! Um here to give a quick update. You can read my earlier article from here, Quick review - II.

• Warm-up matches are going on as preparation before the T20 World cup. We saw some good cricket there. WI, Scotland, Sri Lanka, and Namibia won their matches against UAE, Netherlands, Zimbabwe, and Ireland respectively.

• Did you see the amazing hitting of the big guy, Rahkeem Cornwall in the Atlanta Open 2022 T20 League? He scored 205 runs off 77 balls with 17 fours and 22 sixes. The team scored 326/1 runs in their 20 overs. Isn't that crazy? But this is not a recognized tournament by ICC, to write in the record books.

• It's a pretty busy week for major teams with several series.

• Australia won the series against West Indies

After the series loss against India, Australia was up against WI at the home for two-match series. They won it 2-0 comfortably. The first match was a nail-biting one. Just watch this shot by Kyle Mayers.

Maybe the shot of the century. Just a touch to the square. It was 105m long. Pure timing. Highly praised by the Cricket experts. WI had to lose the first match due to poor fielding. When defending 11 runs in the final over, the fielders put down 2 catches. David Warner won the man of the series award. And yet again, the poor form of Maxwell continues in this series too.

• India won the ODI series against South Africa as well

South Africa lost the ODI series as well, following the t20 series 2-1. Just before the t20 wc I don't know their intention of hosting a ODI series. Anyway, there were no Indian players playing world cup in this squad.

Shikar Dhavan led India. SA scored 249 runs in 40 overs(due to rain) in the first match with the half-centuries of DeCock, Klaseesn, and Miller. Samson tried his best to chase the target with an unbeaten 88 runs, short by just 9 runs. India won the second match chasing 278 runs with the help of Shreyas Iyer's ton. He is in red-hot form in ODIs. The last match was terrible. SA batting lineup scattered just for 99 runs, with 4 wickets for Kuldeep Yadav. Siraj was the man of the series.

• England won the series against Australia with a match to spare

It was the Aussies' second series of the week. England just dominated the bowlers scoring 208 runs in the first match, with a wonderful knock from Hales and Butler. The pair put in 132 runs for the first wicket. Australia could only score 200 runs just short by 8 runs. Sam Curren defended 16 runs in the final over.

In the second match also Australia was short of 8 runs chasing 178 runs. So, England can enter the world cup with high confidence as one of the favorites to be the champions

• T20I Tri-Series 2022 between NZ, PAK, and BAN

Here each team has to play twice against the same time and best 2 teams are in to the finals. Dissapointing series for Bangladesh. They lost first three matches and ruled out of the tournament.

There were no any nail-biting matches. The teams won the match comfortably. In the fifth match New Zealand could score 200+ runs against Bnagladesh with the great inning of Glen Pillips, 60 off 24 balls. So, let's see the winner of the series.

• India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Thailand got selected for the ASIA Cup Women's semi finals.
