Well said, young man. Very well said. This sums up the entire tournament for Sri Lanka.

Not the favorites at the start. Already predicted the winners. Utterly humiliated by some of the big players and sports channels. But here we are! My boys have done it! Sri Lanka has been crowned as the new winner of Asian Cricket! A gentle slap for all the criticism.

After the massive defeat against Afghanistan, it was a hell of a journey. Defeated Bangladesh and entered the super 04. Back-to-back wins against Afghanistan, India, and Pakistan and were selected for the finals on a high road. And defeated Pakistan as the 5th consecutive win to lift the Asia cup for the 6th time. These were not just games. We showed some quality Cricket and nail-biting encounters. Highest successful run chases in Dubai (184 vs Ban) and in Sharjah (176 vs Afg)*.

What went so right for Sri Lanka?

The key point is the team effort. There was no one to play an anchor role. Everybody plays their role accordingly and brilliantly throughout the tournament. While chasing 175 against Afghans, no one crossed 40 run mark. Kusal and Pathum as the openers, DDS in the finals, Bhanuka and Shanaka playing sensible knocks and delivering when it matters, and the cameos of Wanindu and Chamika, were superb throughout. This batting line-up was the missing puzzle in the last few years for us.

As usual, Maheesh and Wanindu were phenomenal in the spin department. Our new finds Dilshan Madushanka and Pramod Madushan surprised everyone. A long way to go for these lads. And the fielding should be praised highly here.

All hail to RAJAPAKSHA. Only one Rajapaksha, Sri Lankans love right now. He marked his name as the power-hitter sensational. Just a treat to watch him play. Today, in the finals, he played a completely different role and showed his class.

Can't forget captain dassa. MY CAPTAIN, someone says Pin Capa, oh yes! Lucky captain. He took responsibility during the toughest time. Even his place was not sure in the team. But just light the way in every way. He will be an Arjuna, a Mahela in one day for Sri Lanka.

All the teams played some amazing Cricket here. I must say, This is the best ASIA CUP tournament ever!

Hats off to the fans

We waited! waited and waited for more than 8 years. When legends retire one by one and Sri Lankan Cricket is darkened, it was heartbroken. Every true Cricket fan knows that feeling. When Sri Lanka is getting f## up in every way, Cricket gives us a reason to smile. This is a different kind of love story!

I don't want to say VINTAGE CRICKET is back. It's one phase that conquered the world. And now it's a new era. A young, talented, and committed team in hunger to roar. There is a long journey to go!
