The Diary Game : 22/10/2020 : Busy with Green Gram

Well, it’s been a while since I have engaged in the dairy game. This is my first post of season 03. So, how are you, my friends? Hope all are doing really well.

What to say about me? The whole routine was completely changed with the start of the Covid-19 second wave in the country. So, the universities were closed before 2 weeks. We were sent home…

Well, in every action there are good and bad sides. The date of graduating is a little bit slowing, but in this situation, we have to be safe. And the university is doing online sessions as much as possible. And also, I needed some free time to relax my mind and stay away from academics.

Home is not just a place. It’s an emotion. Mom’s food, dad’s stories, annoying brother and sisters, and also my bed make it like heaven. More than that there are no huge individual responsibilities on my own.

Today in the morning I went to the paddy field. From July to October, it’s free months between 2 seasons of paddy cultivation. In this period farmers cultivate additional short-term crops like maize, green gram, millet, cowpea. We made green gram in 2 acres of paddy field. This time it’s not bad. The price is higher than in the other years. 1kg is about 2 dollars.

So, I with my mom and 3 others went there to pluck the seeds at around 6.30 a.m. We can’t work at noon, with the sunlight. As we live in a dry zone the rain is not a usual incident. So, we started the work early.

We didn’t use pesticides this time. So, the plants have not densely and well grown. There are a lot of weeds.

And normally, we can harvest 2 or 3 times, after about one month of planting. This is the 3rd time, that's also the reason for less density. But anyway, we did pluck a considerable amount.

Actually, I didn’t do much work. As it’s hard work after a long time I felt exhausted.

After picking, they should be dried in the sunlight for 2, 3 days. Then it's easy to remove the cover and get the seeds. Normally they are beaten by weight for that.

In noon we went home. It was a pretty tough day. So, I bathed from the well. Come here even at 12 p.m. Its water is cold.

Even though it's not raining for months now, my home is not too hot. Because it's surrounded by trees. That's the importance of plants. And a canal flows in the boundary. But it's dried these days.

In the evening, things went normal. I wrote a review for the contest in @world-of-cricket about the RR vs SRH match.

And then I watched the IPL.
