I have visited this place severally and I noticed fascinating events and festivals which includes New yam festivals
If you can continue reading I will give you reasons why you should visit this place too.
The new yam festival
The new yam festival is one among the most celebrated festivals in the town.
Why is it special??
Just as the name sounds "New yam"; every activity for the celebration is always interesting.
The festival is held on a high esteem as the great farmers would compete for the largest/bigest yam ever harvested in the season.
On the day of the festival, the sons and daughters of of the town would come from far and near also visitors to witness the festival.
The event is accompanied with weste dancefrom the women with a custom of native attires, painted feets and hands.
Wondering about the reason for the festival??
Well, it is the method to encourage to encourage them great food producers.
At the end of the festival, first, second and third position will a specified amount of money to share among themselves. While the other participants will go home with farming implements e.g sprayer, wide control chemicals.
Schooling
My educational documents/background has the name of some communities printed on it.
Traveling from my home town (IMO State Nigeria) to Port Harcourt, Rivers State Nigeria to attend high High school has always been a great experience so far.
You can see me sitting at the school logo reginated area.

Wow! It's great to see an entry from different country.
This is wonderful. Because they do hard work. So, is this an annual event?
weste dance should be your traditional dancing event. I should look more about that. That looks very enthusiastic.
Great article friend! Good luck for the competition.
