One charity A thousand blessings | 10% for SL Charity

Two more days for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year and preparations for the New Year are done well in advance over here in Sri Lanka. However there are so many poor families who even can't purchase stuff for their daily consumption. So celebrating Sinhala New Year is a dream to such kind of families.

Yesterday we were able to bring new year happiness towards few families as we can before the Sinhala and Tamil New Year rising. With the help of @rasinkani, we found out 5 families who suffering from poverty. Our destination was a beautiful village called as Gam Ima in Elpitiya, Galle district.

From the beginning to the end we had a kind hearted team behind this charity work @randulakoralage, Harith, @ashen99, @sandupi, @sandu, @dasuni, @sandun98,@supunchandra, @rasinkani, @roshipeiris and @sasanka96. It was a great experience to me doing such a great act of kindness with you all.

Our goal was to help those families by giving little backup to their daily consumption and specially school aged children by providing some needful stationaries. We were able to add smile to their little faces. We didn't forget to have a chat with them. They were so open to talk with us. I was able to feel their innocent happiness!!

When we talk with them we understood that parents have a great desire to teach their children but they haven't satisfactory income to fulfill their needs. They struggle to run their journey of life. Actually I have a immense happiness to help this courage people. Little ones love to receive gifts and when they received a gift they opened as soon as possible. One little boy was drawn a picture just after getting his gift and showed it us. Was a lovely moment!!

There were so many emotional and sensitive stories behind their life. However they manage their life defeating all the obstacles. I think our charity work was a great support to them because they thank and blessed us many times and appreciate our work. That blessing is really worth for us!

This is just beginning of our charity project. Hope to do more good things ahead as Sri Lankan Steemians. We were able to complete our first task successfully and thank you everyone who supported us!!
