Thanks for another good post @stever82. Being at lower league I can only add that Goblin Mech is even better with other piercing monsters as well to me.

When the rules allow it in my matches, I am summoning it with Selenia Sky and use Javelin Thrower or L3 Ettin Spearman. Earth splinter for speed attacking and fire splinter for slow but heavy dmg fighting.
