#GRATEFULVIBES - ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE/WEEKLY THOUGHTS - 18 SEP 2023 - 24 SEP 2023

Good morning, Steemians! 😊

I made another pie this week, it didn’t stay completely around the whole edge, but it was pretty close, and my handsome husband enjoyed it, so it was a win. 😊

It’s been a good week for Roma tomatoes! 😊

I took some time to make my mother-in-law’s Coffee Cake recipe this week. 😊

I had to take a picture of this duck-shaped zucchini before I shredded it and its little friend behind it and put them in the freezer for a future zucchini loaf. 😊

Most of our Sunflowers have been harvested, but there are still a few out there to keep the pollinators happy. 😊

Some of them are big, like this one, but there are still a few little ones fighting to produce a few seeds before the frost comes. 😊

We’re really looking forward to expanding our Sunflower beds next year. 😊

Just over 11 pounds of tomatoes harvested here. 😊

This has been the year for the nightshades. This harvest was 8.5 pounds, but we have harvested that much and more a few times this week, plus blessed our neighbour with a bunch like this and a bunch already chopped up and frozen for him to use on those nights when he just needs a break. 😊

This is those same 8.5 pounds of Sweet Peppers, chopped up and frozen, for future use. 😊

Our onions/pepper drying and tomato colour changing station is getting full. 😊

My favourite tree standing so tall and pretty with the other trees changing colours around her and the fog receding behind her. 😊

I had to make another batch of brown sugar this week. 😊

The buns turned out really nice and fluffy this week, two kneading’s before forming and letting them rise on the pan, then cooking them really made a difference. 😊

My handsome husband harvested our first pumpkin a couple of days ago, she’s a beautiful bright orange. I can’t wait to make a pie out of her. 😊

This big, beautiful beast was the next one to come inside. Plus there are at least 36 more sitting outside waiting to come in, and still more in the garden to come out, so, I don’t think we’ll have trouble getting enough seeds to cook for us, our son and his family, our neighbour and his daughter, and probably still have plenty for the chickens, dogs and bull to enjoy as well. 😊

Oh, we got our very first green/blue egg from our hatchling hens this week, that was so cool, to us. 😊

We also experimented with making dog treats/cookies to replace the ones we usually buy. They were super easy to make too. Just a few ingredients and then after baking I basted them with some Hickory BBQ sauce and put them through the air fryer for a few more minutes. After they cooled, I let the dogs taste test them…and the dogs have voted…they are a hit. 😊

We harvested and processed 16 pounds of tomatoes today. Ten pounds went into the pot to cook down…its still in the pot actually, but this is just after we started cooking them down. 😊

Look who came by for a visit this afternoon, Smudge! She’s almost completely healed from her battle at the beginning of the summer, which was good to see. 😊
