Contest: A Place With A Unique Name || Dakkada Tower
Coming from Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria, we don't have much towering buildings yet. But we do have some and the government are also building presently for international companies.
I will be writing on this Building which has a unique name, Dakadda Tower.
I took pictures of this tower some time back and I am very glad to share it with us and why it was given the name Dakkadda.
Every area has its history which is being passed from generations to generations. The Akwa Ibom people in the southern part of Nigeria which is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean in the south and other inland states is known for being courageous and fearless. It is a home to strong cultural heritage. The recent development in the state, is the Dakkada creed, a message of hope to the people of the land to Arise.
Why is the name of the Building Dakkada? |

Dakkada, which is an Ibibio word for greatness is used as a creed in Akwa Ibom state in Nigeria.
The government of Akwa Ibom state came up with a philosophy named the Dakadda creed and it's says 'Akwa Ibomites, rise to the faith of greatness'. The quote above is the opening line of the Dakkada creed.
It is very special for the Akwa Ibom people because it is like a rebirth, it is a call to stand tall, it is a call to become great.
So this building symbolises that message. The building carries that message of hope that we all can stand tall, that we all can be great.
The tower is in the centre of the capital city. From this tower, you can have a clear view of the city of Uyo which is the capital of Akwa Ibom state.
The Dakkada tower can boast of being a world class building. It will be host to banks, smart offices to International companies. It has the best cooling systems, 4 elevators and it is a 21 storey building. It also has a helipad for helicopters and a hospital for emergencies. It is a all in one building.
This building will not only bring more development to the state but will also help to preach the message of greatness, which is the Akwa Ibom philosophy.
