Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 2 - W3 || My Technology World || @huzaifanaveed1 || Club100
This post will be written from the deepest corners of my heart. Might make you sad, might makee you appreciate the things that you have in your life, but I promise you it'll be a heartfelt post.
My Technology World
My dad comes from a poor family. I am not sure how do you measure the word poor in your country but when I say poor, I mean, if he were the same in this era he probably wouldn't have survived. Graduating as the first doctor in his entire family, people had a lot of hopes from him so instead of studying further, he started doing his clinic in order to provide money to his parents, my grandparents. As soon as he graduated, his mother died, leaving him and all his siblings alone in this world. When he married my mom, he only had a motorbike, that too second hand and the kind of bike on which you couldn't rely on.
One thing my parents didn't compromise on was their children's education. Alhumdulilah, Alhumdulilah all of us brothers were sent to one of the best schools in Karachi. It's like they say, if the foundation is strong, the whole building stands upright. So my dad had to do extra shifts at night, he'd sit on his clinic late night but he made sure we didn't compromise on anything.
I wouldn't call my family poor, you know why? Because we didn't have much expectations and when you don't have expectations, it's hard to get you distraught or sad over little things. Whatever we had, we were happy in it. Let me tell you the first mobile phone that our family bought. I held the first phone of my life in 2013. It was a Nokia 3310.

I still remember how my brothers and I used to fight on who'll play the Snake game on this phone first. It was all fun and games untill our dad had to take his phone back hahaha.
Our lives changed when our dad landed a job in Saudi Arabia in 2013, unexpectedly. That was the turning point in our life, I'd say. Alhumdulilah after that, our lifestyle changed drastically. While in Saudia, I bought my first phone and it was in:
- 2016: I bought a Motorolla.
When we came back to Pakistan, we were Alhumdulilah well-off. We were able to afford a Car, and the car that we brought was:
TOYOTA DIHATSU COURE
I still remember the day, my dad took me to buy this car, I was so excited to sit in a car of our own. It was an unreal moment. Let me mention some specifications of my car:
SPECIFICATIONS | FEATURES |
---|---|
Engine Type | Petrol |
Displacement | 850 cc |
Horse Power | 40 HP |
Steering | Semi Powered |
After this it seemed that God had held our hands. We were able to upgrade our ride in just a couple of years and after that we were able to buy Toyota Grande Alhumdulilah. Even though we had to sell it, but still the time spent in it was memorable.
TOYOTA GRANDE

---|---|
Engine Type | DOHC Dual VVTi - 16 Valves |
Engine Displacement | 1,800 cc |

Alhumdulilah, we are blessed by God. I started working on my own and hesitated in asking for money from my dad. I started my own business, worked very hard for it, participated in a couple of other projects as well and then finally in 2021 I was able to buy a bike of my own. It was a dream come true.
70cc BIKE
SPECIFICATIONS | FEATURES |
---|---|
Engine Type | 4 stroke |

You'll not understand my feeling, the euphoria of buying this bike on my own untill and unless you start earning and buy your dream object off your own.
The next thing that I am about to mention in this post makes me very emotional everytime I think of it. This might be the most important thing that we bought only recently.
Since my school time, as I studied in a very prestigious school there were many kids who used to come in big cars. Cars which had air conditioner in it. Yes, It fascinated me. Fascinated me beyond your imagination. I remember going to one of my friend's house and he had an Air Conditioner in his room which he turned on for me. For a moment I felt like I was in heaven. I didn't want to leave his room.
Since then it had been a dream for me to have an air-conditioner in my house. We couldn't afford it. The AC as well as the electric bill that this AC would havr brought with itself. The weather in Karachi is extremely hot and it got worst in Ramadan. We had to dip clothes in ice water and then put those clothings on our foreheads to keep ourselves cool.
It was in 2020 that we saw an air conditioner in our house for the first time. We could finally afford it or maybe because it became a necessity. It gets hotter and hotter in Karachi every passing year.
AIR CONDITIONER
This air conditioner brought a lot of changes in our home. For example the whole family had to sleep in a single room at night to be under it. We couldn't turn it on randomly as the bills would get much higher. It is so peaceful now to have a Air conditioner in this hot weather Alhumdulilah.
Let me now talk about my gadgets that I use on daily basis and on them I blog on Steemit. They are of much importance to me.
MY PHONE, REDMI NOTE 9S
In this world of Technology, having a good smartphone is the topmost priority and the biggest need of people. It's the mode of communication, you can travel the whole world sitting on your couch. Can connect to your family members in a different country. My phone has been serving me well since the last two years and I have no intention of replacing it anytime soon InshaAllah.

CONCLUSION
Well, I guess, that's it from my side. Reading this post makes me feel proud of myself. We have all come a long long way and there's still a long way to go. With this, I'd like to end this article, inviting my friends @enveng @fombae @maazmoid123 and @wajihasheikh to take part in this contest.
Thank you.
Do you know how being in heaven feels like 😂
Wow that’s really surprising, I thought the situation in some part of Ghana was the worst not knowing ours is even better 😱
Well a good phone certainly makes your life better. And better on steemit.
I started my steemit journey using a laptop to blog most of the time but this meant I always had to sit down and stuff. So I got bored and decided to try my phone for a change and I think I love it very much even though others are complaining about the difficulty in using their phones for blogging .
In the beginning, you really touched my heart with your story, but as I continue reading, I smiled happily, Allah in his mercy will continue to uplift you and your dad.
Well, I see you have gotten yourself a motorcycle, a phone, and an air conditioner, those are technical products. Without technology, you couldn't have had those useful too, technology has really shaped the world beautifully
Yes indeed. It wasn't easy but we did it, didn't we
Yes we did boss
Greetings
What a story! Sometimes we need to take off the blinkers over our eyes and just look around us to see the true need in this world. Thank you for sharing with us!
I applaud your dad, your family and you for bettering your lives. Education plays such an important role and can for sure changes everyting.
I also LOVE my laptop. How people get to do Steemit on their phones I truly don't know. My laptop is my partner!
Good luck for the contest! You get my vote!
Thank you so much. Sometimes we need to look at ourselves from the perspective of people who can't even afford what you have, this will increase the gratification in oneself. Thank you for going through my post.
Hahaha, indeed, posting on mobile phones is a hassle itself but there's one thing that you can't deny, typing on phones is much easier. Atleast for me, or maybe it might be hard for you as you belong to the 'boomer' generation hahaha 😂😂
Now see that is where I am old school and indeed a boomer. (•ิ‿•ิ)
I use a keyboard and I had typing as a subject at school.
I am MUCH faster on my keyboard than on my phone.
I really like the fact that your home has an air condition. And I think air conditioning is very necessary this summer. Since I'm in the country next to you, I know how hot it is now. But the other thing to like is that when it gets too hot, you and your family fall asleep in that air-conditioned room.
