I will want to talk about Thiago Silva who happens to be a Brazilian professional footballer who plays central defense. He has been known to be one of the world’s most successful defenders over the decade, winning titles from his hometown Brazil, his former club sides (Italy& France) and at international level, in addition to a long list of individual honors.
Thiago Silva is blessed with pace and man-strength that make him a formidable opponent both in ground attack and in Ariel attack. This fit which brought his affectionate nickname ‘The Monster’ by the Brazilian and French press. He also has a composure and technical ability to play the ball out from center-back and with maximum confidence.
He has captained a host of clubs which he found himself like Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and his Brazilian national team. He had an outstanding qualities were he displayed he helped PSG reach the Champions League final for the first time last season.
He earned further praise for leading a valiant defensive effort against Bayern Munich in his last match for PSG and became the first Brazilian to captain a team in a Champions League final.
Chelsea fans are already familiar with his outstanding talents from our frequent Champions League meetings with the Parisians in recent years just like in 2015 when he marked Diego Costa tightly in the first leg in France and then headed in the decisive goal in extra-time at Stamford Bridge.
That competition has often brought the best out of him. In addition to his impressive displays in last season’s run to the Champions League final, the Brazilian scored on his PSG debut in a 4-1 group-stage win over Dynamo Kiev and his performance against Barcelona in 2013 was so good it had his then-manager Carlo Ancelotti and Brazil legend Ronaldo calling for him to win the Ballon d’Or.
Despite missing out on a Champions League winner’s medal in his last game, Thiago Silva leaves Paris Saint-Germain as a proven winner, having been a key member of the side that amassed an incredible 23 trophies during his eight years there. That includes last season’s clean sweep of domestic silverware and claiming the Ligue 1 title in all but one of his campaigns in the French capital.
Thiago Silva has won seven Ligue 1 titles more than any player and also named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year seven times, with his triumph last season matching an individual record which has stood since the 1960s.
Thiago Silva has been an important player for Brazil haven represented his country 89 times with seven goals to his glory. He was also in the squad that lifted the Copa America at the Maracana last year and.
So far, his addition to the Chelsea side has significantly improve their game as well as their fan base with a larger part of South America supporters following him to London. This fit is verifiable with the recent form in the Chelsea squad.
